And now I have a track to post. Been listening to a lot of Om Unit, so I've been feeling inspired by that sort of half or quarter time rhythm, with big synths. The mixing and levels are a bit funky. But I’m liking the direction. Feels like it’s missing something but I don’t want to overcomplicate.

I love it,especially the occasional stutter on those pads.
Another wip of mine, bit paced one and may sound a bit repetitive in it's current state:

My band is working on this thing, hopefully it doesn't suck.

Something that doesn't use loops.
It doesn't have to use loops, you could create a pattern that's the length of the track. Personally I love FL Studio's piano roll for recording and editing midi data.

scratchy jams and drum machine routed through a guitar amp for extra low-fi cred
just getting some ideas down really, i was gonna record vocals too but my xlr cable gave out

I tried editing the piano but it kept playing on its own and I couldn't do anything with it

You need to put patterns into the playlist window. Try following some youtube tutorials.
Tried making something for a remix contest. Had a lot of fun with this one.

These got a great 80's vibe yet today's production/sound quality.
Also finished the track I posted on the previous page:

Does anybody know of a VST that could distort a pre-existing guitar track? I recorded some electric guitar however there was no effects on top, I'm looking to jazz it up a bit.

Amplitube series and Guitar Rig would be good choices.

You should make a point of actually learning how to use the program before you decide it won't work. Find tutorials on youtube.
I made this track earlier this morning due to not being able to sleep.

Personally, I think the more high-pitched synth could do with some added clarity and a slight touch of distortion, the bass itself I think would also benefit from being a bit lower in the mix, and with more subfrequencies. :)
I haven't made a lot of music but I did make this little orchestral piece, I'd love to hear everyones thoughts and ideas for it!

This sounds like some pretty sweet background music for an RTS
In terms of my high pitched synth, I think I might have to give that a go. I'd love a 'dirty-80s' vibe to come off of it
