So someone sent me this. Seems pretty interesting, I can't wait to get started.
I mixed drum & bass with trance, I think.
Chilly willy nilly
Your melodies are so good, in your other songs too.
Your melodies are so good, in your other songs too.
Thanks man :D Your preview is pretty nice too! It's got the potential to develop into a pretty original vibe, so it works.
Sup guys, I am making a new song yet still I need some advice on structure, musicality and melody. I'ts pretty repetitive and I know it can be boring, but if someone could give me some constructive criticism on this I'd apreciate. I think it's some kind of melodic trance, but hell I don't know. (It's got a quick-thrown mix and has no mastering on it, so expect volume, compression and EQing issues)
Awesome track dude, this makes me feel happy :) are you using a program to do this track, if not what are you using? i'd like to start making some tracks like this too
anybody got any tips for writing better melodies?
a quick little chill piece
anybody got any tips for writing better melodies?
Brush up on some music theory, make sure you have a good chord progression to support the melody. Practice, practice, practice. That's all it comes down to mostly.
Have the first page of a shitty Fugue Im writing.
gonna have to follow through with this one i think. I find my biggest creative block is seeking verification instead of just allowing myself to follow through. So many unfinished tracks, so much potential. But as I learn more and more the potential grows and there's untapped gold mines of ideas to be breached. I'll take a break from submitting wips and focus on getting a bunch of shit finished
Switching from FL to Studio One, because of easier mixing of multi-tracked recordings. I find it really easy to use, and quite a lot better than FLs setup when it comes to handling audio-files and the mixer console. Pretty new to mixing live drums. I recorded about 13 minutes yesterday, and spent the evening trying to get it to sound as good as I could. The playing is riddled with faults. Drum%20Mix%20Test.mp3 Here's an earlier attempt as well. http://mordi.ziphoid.com/data/stuff/I%20Keep%20Forgetting.ogg My recording room is quite small, and the walls are untreated - so the recording is a bit roomy. Especially the overhead microphones pick up a lot of room sound.
a quick little chill piece
Very chill, love the percussion. You could play different notes on the synth to get a different feeling and avoid getting repetitive if you make it longer. Just maybe you could turn down the volume a bit on the synth that appears in 0:24, though if you're gonna use it little throughout the song you can keep it that way I think.

What do you guys use to make dubstep pieces? I'm interested in at the very least just learning more about it, but I have no idea where to start. It's partially I might be interested in learning about it to do it myself but also because I just wanna know how it's made. [editline]19th January 2014[/editline] Alternatively just electronic stuff in general, not necessarily dubstep

remixing crush from red alert into some clubbish style for shits and giggs going to take pride in that it's the only remix I know that exists for it

Good for making some insane growls. But yeah, Massive and Sylenth1 and Z3ta+ are some good ones.
So I slowed down that song from earlier and it sound relaxing and shit. You better fucking click this link and tell me what you think fucker.
an update... getting close to finished, still got a lot of mastering work to do but there's a sample
I Created a Midi of rhubarb (Aphex twin) after finding some tabs online. So I tested it by making a cover of it in that game called starbound. Holy shit. Its beautiful! I've dreamed of hearing it like this. Made me cry a little bit.
Made this in August, Tell me what you guys think ;) Was used by Frankieonpc on one of his videos as an intro and outro.
