I decided to fuck around and tune to Open D and learn Oceans by Pearl Jam and I somehow accidentally wrote something. Keep these in mind:
1. Recording is shitty quality because I only have a cheap desktop mic for basic voice chat, I don't record anything really.
2. I have never really written anything, so this is very new for me.
3. I suck at guitar, so this is kind of a big achievement for me. I know it isn't that great really, but I'm proud of it :v:.

If you want to record more with your guitar, the Rocksmith USB adapter is actually pretty solid.

I just wish the percussion was in tune with the melodies. I like it though!

Your stuff rules, dude. Do you have any albums released or anything?

Making a skapunk demo, heavily inspired by the likes of Sublime and The Suicide Machines, just a rough thing to demonstrate my abilities to any bands nearby that may be interested in what I can do :v:
gotta produce an acoustic one next!

Thanks! Was the percussion itself ok? I did not want the samples to sound too dissonant while still keeping a rhythm.

Latest WIP, still loads of work left on this one with strings and choirs and vocals, etc. Then gotta get some more guitars in there for the bridge and the outro. My biggest concern currently is the kit. Does it sound overcompressed?
Ambient fun

Really liked the latter bits with the spacey sub reverb. The reversed piano(?) instrument fit very well, but I thought the chords got too repetitive.

Slower than usual, trying to practice sample usage more. Drums are pretty boring atm tho.

Making use of recording equipment.
experimenting a bit with 3/4, which i'm sure is child's play for some people here but i don't really do it that often

I wrote this yesterday. The problem is I don't know what genre it is because I don't usually listen to electronic music. Could someone identify it for me?
Sorry, I forgot to mention that it actually is background for a game. The part up until the cymbal is going to be an animation for the final boss appearing and the part with the cymbal will loop for the duration of the battle. Thanks for the crits though, I appreciate it.
hey guys, i just made this dark ambient album and since its my first time doing something like this, i would really appreciate feedback

A little orchestral piece I came up with. I couldn't think of a good way for it to end, so I kind of just wrapped it up.
Very nice, what program are you using and what samples? Not the best samples but certainly better than mine.
Also the ending was great. Could be longer though. Something I struggle with is transitions into a new idea or a repeat of the main idea. Maybe you could end it with a few instruments in the background covering a soloed instrument playing the melody? Or if you want to elongate it, I would transition with a tense flowing pattern for a few bars and have it climax back into the main idea where you can go through the phrase one last time and end it like you did (or with the solo)
Reworked an older piece of mine:

get some drum samples that aren't the flstudio default samples. the sound on the melody is pretty tight but the notes sliiiightly off and are kinda out of key a little bit. i'm tone deaf as shit so i'm not really much help there. the volume levels are all over the place and at times the drums are too loud and other times the synth is too loud and also the samples you picked are really loud and are mostly in ranges that don't fit the rest of the song
basically equalize, equalize, equalize
for a very first thing it's pretty dang good though keep it up

No more room in hell uses the fl default drums. It literally ruined the game for me.
Im working on a MIDI of Aphex Twin's Girl/Boy song and I'm writing my own drums for it.
