No problem! new one btw :
This is reaaally nice sound but I'd like to hear more going on after the buildup. Like, that funky little riff going on could either use a complementary part in a similar fashion or at least a boost in the mix, it could really add a lot.
This is metal, right? :v: I got really bored.
What on earth am I listening to lol I took a peek through your other soundcloud stuff and you're a decent player, but your metal tones are beyond muddy In other news, I made another quaint little piece at like 2am yesterday, as with most songs I plan to flesh it out someday and I think it has a fair amount of potential
first completed demo with vocals, need re-recording but it's a start
The sense of tempo in this is really rough, especially with guitar, it gets severely out of time in places- I'm not sure if this just the way you're recording or you need more practice, but the only real concern is that you didn't find it problematic enough to redo it from the get go. Your vocals also seem to be blowing signal, watch your levels for clipping when you're recording. if possible, try to find a better sound environment to record- even just throw a blanket over your head with the mic. As is, it's very gainy and coarse, overall just unpleasant. I doubt your voice is bad, but the quality makes it hard to tell. In short, it's got potential but you seriously need to lock it down and tighten it up a LOT before I would call it a polished track.

This is literally just a draft, the first one I've managed to get together,y'know, for showing to any would-be bandmates or something y'know? It was recorded with a crappy line in and a headset mic :v: I've stumbled upon an audio interface so recordings are better-timed now, but I'd rather just meet some other musicians and write some live material together rather than sit here and program everything. There's a few other tracks on my soundcloud which are a little better-timed. [editline]8th April 2014[/editline] Even despite the cheap crappy mic, I don't understand why the vocals seemed to burn it out so quickly though. Here's a sublime cover recorded with it which came out much clearer, and there there's a guitar lumped in too. I don't get why the vocals on Boomtown turned out the way they did this morning.
The interface isn't going to help your timing if you can't keep your guitar playing in time with a midi drum track.

It sounds pretty good. However, I'm not sure what the word is, but you need to make your voice sound more "dynamic." It sounds really "flat," like it feels like it should fill the room, but instead feels plain. Maybe it's your mic as you said.
The word you're looking for is just basic equalizing work. It probably is his mic, but if he wants better quality he's going to have to get his hands on a better mic.
Well, it was only a rough demo - I'm aware that the mic's crappy and the quality isn't going to improve until I find a decent job. I was just proud to get a song completed, albeit not recorded yet, but at least completely noted down. Biscuit-boy, the line in adds a shitload of delay which makes it harder to play on time, with the only other option being turning off the live monitoring and playing unplugged, which is difficult to hear. That's why the interface is useful and in other tracks the timing is better. I have no worries about my timing outside of that track.
My apologies, I misunderstood your previous post. Anyways, best of luck with your stuff.
and as much as I'd love to re-record the track with the interface, the fucking thing fried itself and I don't have a soldering iron or the electrical knowledge to fix it :v:

Aw bbs you make me-a so happeh! Besides the intro melody it's actually quite easy to play, excepting I did dozens and dozens of takes to get each part nice and smooth. Once I become the next big internets celebrity guy dude I'll make a guitar pro tab huehue

I dont like the guitar but thats just me.
I don't think the pauses in the drum track are good for the song, but I do think the guitar sounds pretty nice. Overall this song is pretty boring to listen to though, could use more instruments or buildup of some sort. I say this about most songs I claim are 'boring' but it would do well as a score for a short film or video of some sort.
Record an album or something.
We're planning on it, we just need set some time aside.
