I appreciate you
I decided to download a few sample packs online and try composing another simple hip-hop beat. What do you guys think?
I feel like you should have something to fill in frequency gap between your sub bass and drums, maybe some sort of ambient noise? Otherwise it's pretty good, maybe a little too simple? Add some swing / delay to the drum hits to give it character even. Something to give it humanity.
Love the little scratches in there though.
It's been really fucking hot in California, gave me some inspiration.

Some vocals overtop might help the repetitiveness.
Good beat though/
An easy and amazing way to counter repetitiveness is to change the dynamics of the song by taking out or adding elements, you could have the same melody play over and over again for 10 minutes and as long as you add and remove instruments that play that melody you'll catch peoples attention and keep the attention for as long as the song goes on, having percussion that comes and goes can do a lot to also combat that repetitiveness.
Redone my Sonic CD tracks, new one added:

Let me know how my new mixes turned out. Trying my best to improve.

I was a huge fan of the beginning hip-hop portion. Wasn't as much interested in the dubstep portion. Like I said to everyone else, it was repetitive and it got boring quickly. The hip-hop portion was very enjoyable for me though.
It's got a lot of potential. Keep working on it. Mind if I ask how you're remixing it?

Oh, this is the hardest part of my job :f I know you're generally great about posting feedback, even when you're not posting something yourself, but it's been a couple pages since you've posted, so could you throw out a quick comment or two for someone?
For the future, while I would say it's fair that people who post a lot of feedback maybe shouldn't have to post feedback with their stuff if they've already got a few posts on the same page of the thread, it really does help set a good example for less regular members if every song posted has a comment or two on it.
It's been a year long hiatus since I've recorded but god damn do I miss my set up. I had to record using the mobile app and the quality's atrocious compared to what I'm use to. Anyway I was working on a concept and I just wanted some thoughts and critique (beyond the sound quality which is bad I know):

Welcome back from your hiatus. I would assume you've missed the last few pages, but what we've been doing for the last few weeks is asking everyone who posts a song, wip, etc. to post feedback for someone else first. If you'd be so kind as to pick a song or two and give a comment on it, that would be much appreciated.

Fuck sakes man I seriously am so so sorry I didn't even realize, I legit 100% forgot. I'll remember next time.

Yes 100% appreciate the work you put into making people give back what they want! Biscuit-boy is probably the most useful member in this section

Did not know this! Thank you for alerting this to me. Its a very fair and reasonable thing to do!

I really liked this one, though I feel like its a tad repetitious and the orchestral hits or whatever those are that you use from 1:55-2:07 sound really fake. Other then that I liked the remix!
I've been searching forever for good orch hits...this is all I've got. But thanks. There are some small vox parts I want to add which should help repetition

Symphonic Electronica as usual. Except this time I got my girlfriend to sing small segments.

I really enjoyed it! It's very atmospheric and I like the mix between the choir and the electronic elements. Its a very ambient track overall. It sort of makes me picture an industrial section of a city, with the orange haze of the evening just turning into the deeper hues of red as night starts to settle in.
a good friend and collaborator of mine took his life on the sixteenth. before passing on, he sent me a few verses that he said i could use for my project. here are those verses over a production i've been working on for a while.

Hey dedo679, I've you'd take a moment to read some of the other posts on this page, we've been asking everyone who posts work to give feedback to someone else first. It would be really great if you could drop a comment or two for others when posting. Thanks!
As well, this might be going too far, but vizard38 and others- if you'd like to help the cause, either refrain from giving feedback until they've posted some themselves, or even just a mention that we've been trying to get users to give more feedback when you're commenting on their songs could work miracles.

For this we make an exception. I'm terribly sorry for your loss, that's some awful news. Best of luck to you.

Once again I'm so sorry! I will be keeping this in mind. Thank you again Biscuit for setting a really nice precedent for this thread!
I try. I really don't want to rule with an iron fist, but I think if I/we keep at it for a few more weeks it'll probably gain enough momentum that it just becomes the norm for everyone to keep everyone else in check. We can hope, anyway :)
Nah this thread needs it man, thanks for doing this. I got put off posting my music here a while ago cause of the lack of feedback, but I'll start contributing once I have some stuff to post again

Awesome mix/arrangement. Are these remasters of the original game tracks or totally redone?
Only gripe about the mix is that something about the drums sounds a little.. flat. Are you compressing them? If so I think it might be a bit too much. The volume is wavering like crazy.

Really cool vibe. Maybe try giving the drums a bit more high-end (1k and up) so they're a bit more present? Other than that it sounds killer, nice and dynamic.
