I hate to do this but if you guys wouldn't mind checking out my buddies EP, I'd really appreciate it. Here's the thread.

we can already see the thread, and are aware of it. The rules of the thread dictate that if you want to get feedback on a track you've done, you have to offer feedback on others, it's the circle of music, and it works well. Make sure to follow the rules next post!

Same goes for you! Make sure to give feedback on other people's tracks if you want people do the same with yours!
Absalone, thanks again for helping me out! Just a word to the wise, before you ask someone to leave feedback, check the last page or two. RedBadger posted amazing feedback for dozens of people on the last few pages, so, in cases like that, I think we can cut him some slack.
In PelPix123s case, though, spot on.

Thanks for trying to keep the thread following the rules, but I do follow them. Not a big deal ;)
Thanks PelPix. Just to clarify, the rule is technically meant to have you post feedback with your own song when you post it, just so it's easier to keep track of who's contributing.

shit, that sounds amazingly good

Reworked this one so you can actually hear it at a normal volume.

Need to fix the mixing on this one big time. Too loud and I think I'm clipping. Anyway, progress from the earlier piece I posted. Also reworked the drums to have a differentiating pattern but not stray too far from the written material so it sounds more 'natural'

Reworked this song I wrote and put on here awhile ago. A few new instruments, etc. I'm thinking about submitting this for the album collab thread. The only thing I plan on changing is the organ solo at the end (to make it different from the first). C&C is greatly welcomed.

The synth at 0:24 is really out of place when it comes in. After that I think it works alright.
Here's something I just did that I'm not really happy with much:

The piano is fine and the guitar is great but I don't think they work together. And the synth just sounds amateur.
My guitarist just sent me something he made, it's really out of our style but it makes me really fucking excited..

Sorry to go full feedback nazi, but you've been in the thread long enough that I think you should be well familiar with our 'rules'.
If you'd leave some feedback for someone that would be really great.

Good job man. That is a nice piece. I think adding more variety would work really well with what you already have. Like maybe a new key, or a different chord progression, just things to keep the listener actively engaged throughout the entire piece. Otherwise good work.

Yeah, I agree with that statement. The piano part is interesting, but it just doesn't blend well with what you have. Perhaps maybe rework or just rewrite something completely different. Just some ideas. Personally I have completely removed entire sections out of pieces because it just didn't work well. Good start though.

Here's a pieces I just start working on yesterday. I've been really influenced about several pieces I have been listening to lately. I would of wrote more, but it was quite late when I was working on it, so anyways its a work in progress.

The first 9 notes that synth plays sound really out of place, like it's in a different scale from the rest of the instruments.
[editline]asdf[/editline]
Also, the piano in Forgotten Beauty is very realistic. I would have split up the low and high notes, and taken the low end out of the high notes to get rid of the noise behind them, but since you were going for a realistic sound, it's probably just better off how it is.

actually bother dai about it so we can get quicker response
I went through the first 5 pages only to find mostly dead links - the ones I found were dated (this thread was made in 2013 so no surprise), however, the ones that weren't dead, for the most part, were all good representations of a unique sound or a good representation of the genre that they were writing, and gave a nice compliment or two on the tracks, a like, a follow, or all of the above. Unfortunately I don't think a huge quote of 62 pages of tracks would be apt for a first proper post in this thread.
However, Rich209 / russiangodfather - you fucking have it. I don't know what "it" is, but you're pumping out some amazing sounding compositions and I happily await the many more I'm sure you're cranking out.

Which sound pack is this? I've been thinking about either CCC Pro 2 or Symphonic Orchestra. I'm a fan of the composition but the sounds sound a bit off. Also, trumpet is sticking out too much especially on those marcato backgrounds near :42. Nonetheless great job, I can't wait to hear more.
Do you compose these in Sibelius? Finale? Or do you just move it straight to a daw?

Symphonic Orchestra and I compose right into FL Studios. Well actually I write at the piano (sometimes manuscript) and then I go to the computer.
And yeah I noticed that about the trumpet, I've been reworking the intro and working on general dynamics.
I know this'll sound like babbywork next to Rich's stuff but here's something I'm wip-ing on right now:

(Also the bass thingy at 1:27 is supposed to be more subtle)
Also Rich's stuff is simply movie quality, when I grow up I want to do stuff like him!

This one gives me an 80's vibe (which I'm pretty sure is from the instrument used at 0:06) mixed with modern elements .

Beautiful stuff man, love the airy chorus pad. It goes great with the piano.

Not sure if those are synths or instrument samples or a live orchestra - they sound pretty awesome. Kudos for that. Diggin it!

I really dig the main melody. So quiet. I think a little more cutoff on the high frequencies in the kick/bass could work. Also, I think the transition at 1:06 is a bit off place. Something sounds off. Apart from that, the melody itself is great.
[editline]19th June 2014[/editline]
also early wip, still working on the transitions, keeping the semi orchestral style I went to with my other unfinished tracks.

[editline]19th June 2014[/editline]
actually the transition at 0:54 is horrrrrrid, I'm cutting it out right now
