Embed isn't working, might have to click the link.
Edit: I'll edit tomorrow and post feedback. It's late and I didn't think to, my bad. :(
Even though this guy never edited his post to add feedback, I'm going to post feedback on his song anyway since I liked it so much. Sorry if this pisses anyone off. Anyway, I really like the pace and mood of this track. Lots of really smooth and flowing movement amongst all your synths. However, the lead that comes in at 3:30 kind of ruined the feel for me. It's too solid and static, which really contrasts with the rest of the song. I'd suggest refining the synth you used so it's more dynamic, or try a new one altogether. Other than that, I really like the track overall.

No offense, but I liked all three of the tracks until the wubs came in for each of them. They just don't fit the dark, atmospheric background of your style. They're so blunt and farty sounding. The rest of the composition is nice though. It's dark, but not oppressively so. It's actually pretty calming to listen to (minus the wubs).
I had to give a funny for "blunt and farty sounding", sorry

Don't really know what else to say but how sick this is. I dunno why, but, it sounds really heavy without sounding too cliche, great work on it. I'm kind of shit at C&Cing rock tracks because I've never made it :s
anyways, here's a little something i've been working on, you'll have to excuse the repetition but I was just experimenting with some jazzier chords

Don't mean to sound harsh at all man but this track is kind of a mess, in regards to the mix AND the placement of the sounds themselves. There feels like there's no general direction, and to be honest when it comes to the mixdown it sounds like you didn't really pay attention to it at all. I only say this because I sort of know what you're trying to get at however your execution is what needs work.
anyways, here's a little something i've been working on, you'll have to excuse the repetition but I was just experimenting with some jazzier chords

That was funky as shit dude. Are you planning on making that in to a full track? You really ought to. It's definitely got tons of potential.
Gonna post one of my other completed tracks. Hope you guys like it.

i personally think the wobbles fit really nicely, especially in the second song. although when the wobble comes in on the third song it's a little too loud and just sticks out too much from the rest of the sounds. i think making it more of a background element would let the track continue with the same sort of feel, except with a nice wobble in the back adding more rhythmic elements. aside from that though, i really like these three tracks, they sound like they're coming along pretty well.
so i remastered that song i posted a while ago, and if it sounds any better than the first master to anyone then i'll put it up for download

Remember to remove the 's' in 'https' and use tags :)
[editline]29th June 2014[/editline]
You know, now that I think about it, it would actually be really fun to be a moderator so I could just dip into people's posts and fix that for them.
i did that because private links don't work with media tags, but thanks haha. it's awesome what you're doing for this thread, you've really improved it and encouraged me to keep posting my stuff here
so i remastered that song i posted a while ago, and if it sounds any better than the first master to anyone then i'll put it up for download

I don't hear any problems with your mastering, but I don't like that snare. I don't really like any snares like those (Skrillex snares), so it might just be me.
Ah that's embarrassing. I usually check, but you're right about the private links. I hope they'll change that someday because it's quite annoying to have stuff I'll share with you guys and not my friends/family, and not be able to mediatag it properly.
I think maybe I should make a dedicated Facepunch/WIP Soundcloud account someday.
[editline]30th June 2014[/editline]
Oh and thank you for the compliment, I'm glad to hear you think it's helping. Likewise if anyone thinks I suck and should go away already, I want to hear that as well. Power to the people, and such.

I fucking love this, it's got that IDM feel but with a touch of gritty 21st century sound we all know and love. Fucking raw dude let me know if I can buy this anytime soon.
I finished up that track I posted recently you guys, I sent it over to plasma for release, should be out in the next couple of months :v:

Hey guys! I'm kinda new to posting on FB all in all, but I try to make music sometimes and thought that this thread would be nice to follow.
So i start off with some feedback, dude I love this, overall this frenchy touch to EDM is amazing. I don't really have anything to complain about, the mix sits good, I like the musical elements and your drums are snappy and well produced. Sounds a bit like Lemaitre to be honest.
And then on to my own stuff, I don't really expect anyone to feedback me right after my first post but I'll try to contribute a lot more so if anyone feels up for it!
This is a "track" (more like a few bars) I produced a while ago. Have kind off hit a wall when it comes to producing so I just went crazy.
https://soundcloud.com/sam_nick/baba2/s-Xrmbf (it's a private track and I read something about that embedding doesn't work somewhere in this thread so I'll do without for this time)
Enjoy
You're correct nixxu, if you have a private track you won't be able to embed it properly and can only use the private link as a normal url. Also, thanks so much for giving feedback with your post. We all really appreciate it!

Still so great, I love it. My only comment is that the hats sound a little distorted at times, mostly apparent right at the beginning (but it could be my imagination).

The sample that comes in around 1:08 is a bit annoying. Other than that, it's pretty good. I like the ...whatever that comes in at 0:13.
Also, here's an improved? version of my previous track:

Replaced the snare and added another synth to make it less repetitive. Still not really liking the synth that comes in at 1:03, but I'm not sure what I could replace it with. Any thoughts?
Looks like your media tags got messed up, you'll need to remove the 's' from 'https' and it should work fine.
Here.

I don't think the clap stands out enough, and it kind of bothers me that there's a lot of sounds panned to the right and not as much to the left. This is sick though, the piano/rhodes/whatever that is sounds so good. I like what you did with that rim click (or whatever that sound is, the one Machinedrum uses a lot) after the kick too.
It also kind of reminds me of some of Biome's more recent stuff. (http://biome.bandcamp.com/track/hajime)

Glad you enjoyed it! What is it about it that makes it sound heavy? The guitars? The drums? The bass? I'd like to know :) Don't worry about not knowing how to c&c a rock track, just say what you think is good vs bad in it :)

That's two really nice synth you've got that's in the intro, what piano vst are you currently using? If you haven't you should check out TruePiano, it's def one of the best piano vsts out there.
Really love song once it kicks there at 2:20.
I think letting the snare stick in the background was a good choice!

I myself am not a big fan on the wubs, as others have stated, but atmospherically the songs are all really sound and it has this very somber, decadent city vibe. The last one would especially work well in an espionage film with a sequence somewhere in like Hong Kong or in that vein, though again the wubs just kinda overpower the atmosphere.

The piano seems to be a little too bright for this piece. Might want to look into more muddier and quieter sounds for that. From the beginning to about two minutes its very atmospheric, and has a very space feel. I can easily see this in FTL's soundtrack! However, it does feel fairly long drawn, though that may be intended and if so it does contribute to that lonely adrift-by-yourself kind of vibe. The piano solo around the 3:50 mark is really good and I really like it! Overall its a wonderful piece!

This isn't even my type of music that I'm into and I really enjoyed it! The transition is flawless and the effects are really cool. Its very boisterous and loud and overall really cool!

The beginning sample seems to slightly drawn off; if the sample is longer you could try to use that. The sound effect that starts at around 1:11 is too repetitious and kinda detracts from the music. Its a nice piece overall, but really repetitious and I would love to see some more diversity in terms of rhythms, samples, and sounds later.

The build up is really nice. I love the way the piano comes in and it has a very fitting sound. Actually, I can't compliment enough how nicely done the build up is. I feel something more rhythmically different could be done from like 1:40-2:07 just to give a nice little touch. 2:08-2:23 introduces that really awesome sound which is rad! Overall its a really awesome piece, though I feel like its a little dull in terms of rhythms, but that's me.
--
I just cooked this piece up today. Its really rough and has some kinks I need work out but I think overall its alright. Its my introduction piece for this solo piano concept album I'm working on. I hope you enjoy! Also as a disclaimer, I still don't have my recording studio and software, so I'm STILL recording with my iPhone. Shit sucks.

Here's a little something I've remixed, I realized the 45th anniversery for the moon landing is coming around the bend and I use a lot of samples from the space race, and the track needed a good remix so I figured why not?

Not a huge fan of the sample you're using, it works in the beginning, not so much I think as the track progresses, gets a bit stale! It would work really nice if it came in here and there, as a bit of spice to the track as the drums come in.

Get TruePiano and replace the piano with it, work on the velocity and it'll be kickass! Maybe even let the track breathe every now and then, and maybe some cool automations here and there?
What do you mean skeeter I didn't use gross beat at all
I thought you did, the thing the bass does at 0:41/42 is something you can do in grossbeat :)
