i like the main organ-y synth alot could bring it down a tiny amount though, while bringing out that higher sounding pad synth a lot more though to make the mix sound a bit cleaner.
might also help having some more natural sounding drums, because at the moment the snare sounds like its going through a lowpass filter and gets kinda repetitive as the track goes on
other than that though, very nice, it's simple but i like it a bunch.
Thanks man appreciate the crit! I totally hear what you're saying about the synths, the high lead is definitely the focal point of the beat. And also, the drums are really only in there to put it together at the moment. The drums are from Logic's shitty drum kits and I'm gonna use the same rhythms but sample in my own drums for them instead, it'll sound much cleaner. Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey guys so this is something that I started working on yesterday. It's pretty mellow and I think it has a good amount of potential. I would love to hear some critique if I'm missing something that would sound nice or if there's something in the mix so far that could be fixed. Thanks.

What Bobie said, and I think even if you added just a notch of reverb on that snare, it'd sound better, cos at the mo it sounds like it's being played on a cheap microphone
I'm trying to get back into electro house. I think this is a pretty decent attempt. C&C?

Wasn't very punchy if I'm honest, and the little guitar thing in the background was really unfitting;
I'll be honest here, you should stick to your previous stuff, it was miles better

Tried doing a mashup this time. Took a trap tune by ƱZ, a piece by Hans Zimmer, blended that ish together and this is what came out:

I thought it sounded kinda neat, thoughts?

i think the upper mid mid-high end could be boosted a bit on the hans zimmer track. other than that i like it. good mashup i guess
Shaking the Habitual inspired music here, please tell me what's wrong with it.

I re-recorded drums and added a new section on an old song, I think last time I posted it (if I did) it didn't have a guitar solo either so new things galore

There are some weird things going on at select times that I don't know how to fix, but other than that I'd love to hear your opinions on the mixing!

I haven't got round to listening to that Shaking the Habitual yet, so I can't critique it from that perspective. But it's a really interesting piece. I like the way you introduce new sounds and swap them in and out. I've read that the Knife's new album is pretty experimental, so I'm guessing this is quite true to that. But not hearing what you've referenced, it sounds quite atonal and odd. Part of the reason The Knife's music works for me, persoanally, is that the female voice on top gives you a hook and a main melody, before you 'explore', listening to the experimental elements of a track. Some vocals might be what your music is missing, if you're going for that style.
Minor thing at the section starting 0:52, I'd say the second hit on that tamborine sample is a bit loud.
Interesting though, I like how you build it up and break it down.

Really like this! That arp at the beginning is great. That section at 1:32 put the bassline on show, unfortunately it kind of shows that it needs something else. Sounds a bit off with no decay imo. Maybe have a shorter release/decay so it can do a slightly more complex pattern. I like the drums, do I remember saying you just program them live and leave them without quantizing? If so, that really helps the feel of this track. Although I'd say as you're going for a crunchy bitcrushed sound with the hat, the snare sounds much too clean in comparison. Maybe bitcrush and distort the snare, or find a different sample.
Overall though, really nice. I've been working on this lofi sound for a while. You did it well

Chord progression is good, although I'd maybe try a different root note with the bass. Structure is good, good buildup and stuff. I'd maybe have a section in the middle where there's little/no percussion. I'd say the resonance on the filter on the percussion was a little too high, giving off some unwanted peaks. I'd also turn that supersaw synth down a bit. It's also really heavily compressed, making it quite fatiguing to listen to. With some tweaks it'll be a great song.
Another electronic WIP. Still need to finish mastering and the ending, but I'm lazy and stuff.

A very close friend of mine who has supported my music ever since I started back in 2010 has decided to take up the art himself, he's been producing for 3 months (The quality of his stuff is increasing rapidly) , and I think you guys should check his shit out, I know this counts as spam/promotion whatever but he really deserves it after what he's done for me previously

I think it sounds good. It has some mixing issues though. Try mixing around the kick i.e. make the kick the loudest part of the song.

That arp synth sounds fantastic! I'm not to keen on the percussion though. I personally think it needs more thump.
I would like some C&C on the mix and the structure on these industrial glitchy things.
Because I can't stick to only one piece of music at one time here is another piece I'm working on. Essentially the entire first 1 min is based off two chords, but I put some variations to them. More to come from this one.
Frozen Chamber:
It sounds good but I think it would sound better if the piano didn't become quiet so quickly.

lots of mastering and tweaks to be made on this, but you get the idea:
I really love the intro, it sounds really surreal and gives me a 'Mercy of the Living' by Bear McCreary sort of vibe. The progression on that bass is really nice.

The drums are the best part but the rest sounds quite dissonant and chaotic.

Got bored and tried to make something "deadmau5y". Not sure if I cba to finish it but I was wondering what you guys thought

Yeah it really does sound like deamau5 but I like how you still bring your own yet not very deadmau5y pluck sounds in at around ~2:30.

I wasn't a huge fan of it until the bass came in, that bassline is really nice. Good job.

I thought this sounded great, the breakdowns between the main pluck/drums parts sounded good, and the transitions were flawless. But after listening to the original, I think it needs something else in it that's really different from the original song. Right now, it sounds a little too similar to the original to me, especially the pluck/drums parts.

The samples fit well, but the whole song is pretty flat. Ya need more dynamics in the song.

Cool ideas - finish them.
Something I just worked up today. Kind of wrapping ideas together. Need to work out an actual transition into the more technical section or maybe a better build up, and a few edits in the melody there, but I like the outcome and ideas so far. Might add more instruments or arrange it for a band later.
