It all seems pretty good to me, I don't have any massive suggestions. I presume this is un-mastered? If not, it could do with being a little louder/fuller. I like the complextro-y bit. Just a little thing I put together in an hour:
Hey guys, what do you use to put together music? I've been using musescore, but I'm sure there's something better out there.
Hey guys, what do you use to put together music? There's software like Ableton Live, Cubase, Pro Tools, Reaper, and many others that you could look into. Find a DAW that fits your needs and is easy for you to use. They can be pretty scary at first though, so don't give up if you can't figure things out right away

practice track with a new synth i've programmed as well as some old ones probably wont finish this one, but i'm loving the tones i'm getting as of late. Don't worry guys, I will review some more stuff.
I really like this right off the bat, could use some mastering, the treble build up in the intro gets a bit too sharp to quick, those bells are really fucking nice but they suffer the same issue (too sharp) honestly just cut the treble a bit and this will be near on perfect IMO, really fond of this just struggling to really hear the drums because of those high's. Love the wobbles you've used though.
Hey guys, what do you use to put together music? I've been using musescore, but I'm sure there's something better out there.
Do you mean producing or composing? For the former I've fallen in love with Ableton (tried Reason and started out with FL), for scoring I used Sibelius with a MIDI-keyboard because it goes awfully smooth that way.
Hey guys, what do you use to put together music? I've been using musescore, but I'm sure there's something better out there.
I've used Cubase, Logic, Cockos Reaper and FL studio so far in my short musical career and I can say that each and every program have their perks, both cubase logic and fl studio have really good stuff within the program, cubase & logic's only downside in my opinion is how hard it is to edit soundfiles within the program whereas both Reaper and FL studio are almost too easy to use for editing soundbites. All programs however are things I would gladly recommend for beginner and pro alike! Logic is for Mac only which is a shame, Cubase FL Studio and Reaper both work on every OS out there though. The biggest pro with the program I primarily use (Cockos Reaper) is that it is really cheap, $60 for a full license is nothing in the world of DAWs (Digital Audio Workstation) but don't let the pricetag fool you ; The stuff within the program is easily just as good as the one's in any other DAW. The biggest downside is that it is very bareboned when it comes for synth VSTs, for recording&mixing it is exceptional however. You can also get it for free for 60 days, after that you'll have to wait some time before you can properly start it. I don't know any notation programs that are good so for your uses I can't really give you any tips, if you're interested in a program where you can produce/record/mix music I would recommend either of the four programs mentioned though.

Im trying to make a song and I've been having a real hard time finding good drum samples. Does anybody know where to pick up some powerful heavy metal drums? Here is a video of the kind of drums I'm looking for I would appreciate any help.
and speaking of neuro, i've got another dnb WIP that maybe someone would like to give C&C? https://soundcloud.com/monsieurangry/smthin/s-AXnDD
Thanks, man. I left some comments on the track (but nothing particularly helpful..). In terms of things I think could be changed, I feel the snare, although close to perfect, is lacking just a little something. Perhaps some high end? A tiny bit more of a "crack" would help it I think. I also felt some more hats/percussion would be good nearer the start of the drums, but then more came in so fair enough - although maybe something a little sharper/higher would be good occasionally. Everything else is wonderful, especially the composition. Can't wait to see this one progress.

getting closer to something I really like with the melodic track I was playing around with, I think. Need to redo a lot on it, I want to create a more interesting introduction but i'm not sure how to go about it, it's something i'm usually quite poor at (interesting starting points) I think this is going to be my main project for the next few days, feel very inspired at the moment... will post some feedback for you guys tomorrow, i need to get some sleep right now just wanted to share some progress

I really like it at 0:16, that was a really neat part. I am personally not too fond of the dubstepish sound at 0:39, but I think it works for what your wanting. _______________________________________________________ Here's a work in progress piece I started working on for Portal 2 Repercussions. I've tried to beef the intro out a bit, and change a few minor things throughout. I'd love to hear some thoughts on it, specifically whether it's actually like.. a good song (obviously not finished yet but). Ie, whether a label might be interested down the line/whether anyone can see themselves actually listening to it. My monitors are coming tomorrow so hopefully I'll be able to do an even better job from now on, although it'll take a while to get used to them I'm sure. It's come to my attention that I will probably need a MIDI keyboard. Any recommendations? I appreciate the feedback guys.
I think the M-Audio keyrig 49 is EXTREMELY good for playing with, really nice weighted keys :)
Only had one midi keyboard so far, an M-Audio Oxygen 49. It lasted for 6-7 years, but I abused a bit (a lot) so it broke recently (it fell flat on the ground). Loved that thing, although I barely used the extra features (sliders, knobs, ...), but that's a personal preference I guess. They really make quality gear. Everything feels so robust. It doesn't have weighted keys though, although I didn't mind all that much. It impacts your timing (it gets a bit worse, but usually nothing quantization can't fix) but on the other hand you gain a lot of dexterity because they have a light action (in my experience) It really depends, if you are a pianist and you feel like you really depend on a good "piano-feel" to make good music, then I'd invest in something with weighted keys (at least 49 if you use both hands), without all the knobs and shit (e.g. the keystation series). If you're more of a guy who makes thumping beats with a simple melody, you can do fine with 25 or whatever. Apart from that, MIDI-keyboards are really cheap compared to most studio gear/instruments, so you can get really decent stuff below $200... I don't have any experience with the other brands. M-Audio really seems like the go-to brand for anything MIDI. You can always check some reviews.
