I really liked this, it was very calming, but it sounded very familiar to a bunch of other stuff i've heard. it also didn't really go anywhere which isn't really bad, but i got a little bored pretty cool, though with the drums i got more of a hip hop feel than a jazz one AND FOR MINE I'm still working on this, I want to perform it at my local open mic night but i need lyrics first, which i can't write to save my life at the performance it'd be me playing guitar and singing, and my buddy on drums, maybe another person on like violin or something i'd like to do a full version though with other parts than those
If you added drum & bass guitar it'd like it a lot, especially with then maybe the violin playing some melody. As for my shit, if anyone know what genre I'd tag this as (not that it matters all that much)... First time I'm sort of happy with sampling vocals (Bjork- All Is Neon). It could use some better mastering, not sure if clicking "normalize" was a good idea. It'd add a solo/improvisation of some sorts but I haven't got a keyboard atm. Also screw song titles :v:
This is very nice, quite soothing! The melody is fantastic, the guitar tone is nice and the background riff is good too (although it sounds like it ducks out occasionally which is odd). The noise is rather distracting to me though, which is a shame. Just a thing I made quickly for no real reason: Trying to go for a melancholy jazz thing.
Sounds real nice. I like the drums a lot, but I think it would have been better if you messed around with the rhythm of the drums a little more. Other than the quieter snares in between, it just sort of turns into "kick, snare, kick, snare..." once the drums start to pick up around the middle of the clip.
Now for what I've brought with me today. Straight from the oft' unexplored areas of my creativity, that of improvisation. I'd quite enjoy anyone's thoughts on it.
This is really nice - the only things I didn't like about it were the background noise that started with the lead (although you'd probably have to re-record the lead to fix that, and I'm not sure whether you plan on doing much more with the song, considering that you said it's improvisation), and the low end sounds a little messy to me. I think it would sound better if you reduced the low end by a little bit. The song itself is great though. - I feel like I often over-do things, so I was trying to avoid that here and just keep it real simple. Also, it seems like the faster I finish a track, the better it turns out. Maybe it's just because I don't have as much time to get tired of it, since I'm not listening to it while working on it all the time. I don't know, but this one didn't take very long and I think it turned out alright. Here's another WIP thing. Sounds like It would be on loop on some kind of visual novel
It reminded me of Myst before the percussion comes in, kind of gave it a nice otherworldly kind of feel. The transitions are great, and I like that vowel sounding lead and string sounding chords. Nice Pike-sounding synth at ~3.33 to the end. Overall it's got a nice composition with nicely strange ambient type synths. I quite like it,
A little too much bass going on in that track. Maybe lower it with an equalizer or something. Getting some distortion. Here is the finished version of the last song I posted. Lots and Lots of chords. Have a nice day. [editline]22nd August 2014[/editline]
Very chill, reminds me of minecraft music with drums. I like it.

Very Very happy, not sure what to call this genre but it's upbeat and happy, your production is nice, nicely chosen sounds, not too overcrowded, very crazy drums, everything sounding pretty good. Nice mixing aswell. I have a lot of things to show. Not so sure about the first two, I don't really like the single droning tone but that's just my own tastes. But nothing too cluttered or anything like that. This is my new WIP track. Basically everything you hear is open to change except for the low end and powerful vibe im going for. I know the bass sounds off, my fingers were killing when I finally got that recorded because I was just jamming so hard trying to find out riffs for the drums. The synth solo thing is also kind of wonky. I am also just going to add more parts to it to flesh out the song, I dont like creating repetitive signatures. Reupload, I found my little sisters bongo drum or something like that and started banging away: It's starting to sound like a god damn jungle lmao

Everything feels like it's hitting some sort of limiter really hard though, with things popping in and out a lot. I think it's due to the drums, either that or some crazy side chaining going on? Either way I find that a little distracting. I love the vibe though. Here's a remix of Royals I'm working on. Not sure if I like it yet.

I don't know if it needs anything else, but it kinda sounds similar to the original, keep messing around. Quick synth only piece, maybe it could be an intro to something.
It's definitely a subtle remix but well done, you could go a bit wilder though rather than just accenting the original. Try adding some other stuff and see how it sounds. Maybe pitch up the audio. I produced this last night and my cousin rapped over it I produced this the other day
I produced this last night and my cousin rapped over it
I think the sample used in the first half of the song sounds stuttery in an awkward way. Also, I think that part where he says "pause it", it should go silent for maybe 2x as long.
Yeah something weird going on there, if it's in Ableton, try setting your warp to Complex Pro, it usually does the trick. That or you warped it in such an extreme way that the algorithm can't handle it anymore. I feel it could use a bit more bass (also bass drum). You could try just ripping the bass from the sample by lowering it an octave and applying a low pass filter. Or play one yourself, it shouldn't be too complex. Just something that outlines the harmony.
really like the progression in this, it really feels like a theme from an 80s film or tv show. the plucks sound really nice and the way it ends is great; maybe use that bass that comes in at the end to draw up a progressing bassline through the piece though. it feels a little bit empty without a strong bassline anywhere in the piece.
love how this evolves so fluidly, only thing i would change personally is take the filter vibrato out of the synth that starts at 0:38 as to make it cut through the mix a little firmer
i really like the way the guitar switches around at 1:00 onwards but the static samples are a bit headache-y. this track would probably benefit from having a smoother and less aggressive mix
i like this a lot a lot. i have a big crush on guitars that sound like that. excellent work here's a thing i did the other night
im really feelin this. love it; just listened to 'a sad loop' as well. these tracks all have such a great boom-bap low fi funk feel to them. i can imagine someone like mf doom rhyming over these, no doubt https://soundcloud.com/partyhat/sdfsdg got fl studio 2 days ago. heres a techno loop that involes me trying to learn it after getting used to reason.
woops
I really like this dude, I really really do, the little sound effects that fade into every 2nd and 4th beat is so fucking atmospheric! The smallest changes do indeed make all the difference. Mixwise - it sounds fine to me, if i had my way the kick would be a little punchier but the sound it's at now sounds just fine, hell you may have done this intentionally, idk. Compositionally - I can't really critique it in this area cos it's techno, it's more designed for clubs instead of focusing on the more musical/melodic side. Great work overall! Here's a little thing i've been working on, not sure if i'm gonna finish it or not but yeah https://soundcloud.com/veschell/extreme-arse-clenching-270/s-8PSfG it's kind of like some weird 180 bpm (half time) jazzy glitch hop thing inspired by the idea of a super professional company being broken into by secret agents n shit yeah

Awesome sampling all around. The mix is also really good. Nice and roomy and everything can be heard loud and clear.

Not sure if the airhorn is used ironically or not but it made me burst out laughing for some reason. No offense intended. This is version two of that WIP song I was working, I redid the bass line to be more simple and less flashy, also redid the bass sound so its more heavy and crunchy. Oh yeah and I added an introductory piano piece. Remixed the whole thing until I thought it sounded right. If there are any problems please let me know. Also please tell me how good the bass is because my speakers are shit and I cant fully hear how well the bass lines mix in with the song.
I would not call it an album but rather a compilation of stuff i've done lately. Thanks :) https://loungic.bandcamp.com/releases

Thanks :) https://loungic.bandcamp.com/releases
listened to some bits and pieces pretty chill stuff, mostly sounds very nicely produced, but christ some of those cymbal sounds are awful they sound like default hihats you'd get with a music making program especially in tracks 1, 2 and 5 they sound like they're just straight up midi cymbals and it really breaks the otherwise great atmosphere other than that it's great from what i listened to, fantastic album cover too
