The Photographic Tricks That Make McDonald’s Burgers Look Good

I wonder why people makes such a big damn deal about the pretty advertising. Other companies use plastic food. It's rather interesting that McDonald's uses a real burger for the ads.
Really, you're getting a better burger when you order one than the one on the ads, since they don't actually put ketchup or other condiments throughout the whole burger.
They did gloss over one itty bitty detail which needed o be addressed... That patty is not cooked, and is likely still frozen on the inside, just seared in a way to make it look edible. This means the size of the patty itself is larger than the patty in the actual burger. Other than that it's great.
They make the ingredients hang out so you can see everything that's in the bun, if you bought them like that everything would just fall out when you took a bite. It makes perfect sense.

Reminds me of this:

I believe they stick the burger with toothpicks as well to make it seem more buoyant.
Exactly, if they were showing you a burger with ingredients you flat out couldn't have, that's false advertising, not this.
Do they specifically say "You will get a beautiful looking burger that is exactly this tall and is arranged in this fashion that looks just as delicious as this one" in the commercial?
No, you say?
Then it's not false advertising.
My mum did that sort of thing for companies like coke.
I wish they gave the burgers in the store this much attention...
And that goes for all fast food places. Personally I boycott McDonalds.
Lol you're not boycotting it, you're just not going to McDonalds.
I really wish people would stop throwing that word around.

That's exactly what I'm saying.
At least they're honest.

No you don't.
If they gave your burger half this amount of attention it would take at least 30 minutes to get your hamburger. It's called fast food for a reason. You're going there to get something to eat quickly, not a fucking art project.
You guys should take a look at this since it's related to advertising. It's really incredible.

If you want to watch the processes then watch the beginning. To get to the fancy slow motion skip to 3:38.
Looks like the photographer is using a Mamiya with a digital back?
idk guys that gross looking quarter pounder made me crave mcdonalds

Lol i died at " Taking your job!"
Disgusting shit. The food AND the marketing, mind you.
Oh look I'm "hip" and "cool" because I don't like McDonalds.
Okay, okay, in all fariness I doubt that's why YOu dislike McDonalds, but so many people do that just to be ~eDgY~ and it pisses me off.
Also some companies (I think Burger King) makes the burger out of plastics and rubbers to mold it just right.
She turns every statement into a question with that annoying high pitched squeak at the end of every sentence.
I really don't know why so many people have a problem with this. When they explained that they pull the ingredients forward to show them off, it made perfect sense to me. Would you honestly use that 'normal' Quarter Pounder in an advertisement? It just looks like a normal burger on the outside. How is the customer supposed to see all the ingredients on the inside if they're hidden?
And the Photoshop touch-ups make sense, too. They would be stupid to show off a bun that has imperfections and you would be stupid to expect buns with ~perfect~ shape and form. It's fucking bread at a fast food place; it's handled and served quickly and it doesn't affect how it tastes at all.
You should see Japanese McDonald's food. It looks almost exactly the same as it does on the menus.
Mcdonalds is a place you can turn up to at 3 o clock in the morning, drunk out of your mind and get a tasty burger for the change in your pocket. Anywhere that provides a service like that i personally cannot complain about.
Whenever I buy a burger from McDonald's it looks like someone has stepped on it. Small and squished.
Why?
The local McDonalds here is full of arrogant kids who talk shit about the customers they serve. And when it comes down to fast food I want a real burger, not a tiny mayo loaded burger with fake cheese on it. I hate cheese slices. Processed to taste like the plastic they're wrapped in.
It all comes down to personal preference really. I prefer other fast food options over McDonalds.
Also it's unhealthy in every way possible.
ITT: All commercials are 100% real
Anyone else find it funny that even the FOOD stylist seems stereotypically gay?
-snip-
My brother did work for the guy who invented this "fast food photography" back in the 1970s and sold it out to. He is now minted more so then you'd ever expect a "fast food photographer" to be.
(And he's fucking huge, he has his own house just for cooking)
The more you know
Does the food stylist get to eat the burger after the photoshoot?
if you want to eat raw beef mince that has been slightly cooked to appear bigger then be my guest.
