Thank god.
-snip- Why does he say his game like "Yam-dairy simulator"? His voice actor can say it right, like Yan-Der-eh, but the dev ALWAYS says it like that. Like I read it in a comment and now I can't stop hearing it everytime he says the game title or the character name
That's hilarious if fake, also they should give the real reasons if people are pretending to be them giving fake answers.
Why doesn't DOOM (2016) fall under "games that focus exclusively on violence and gore"? It's a game dedicated to murdering the shit out of demons in gruesome ways. Why doesn't Killing Floor 2 fall under it? It's got a system that lets you coat the map in blood, and it's entirely about murdering the shit out of Zeds in gruesome ways. There are games equally or more gorey than Yandere Simulator that are perfectly fine on twitch, so I think it's kinda dumb to argue it's banned for gore. Regardless of why it's banned, twitch needs to say WHY it's banned. This is all silly speculation that would stop as soon as they explained why the game is banned.
Because those are demons and monsters being killed, not high school students. Pretty big difference.
Update! -fake email tweet-
I was spooked the tumblr sjw was confirmed
That low-key misspelling of "Yander Simulator" was a nice touch. Whoever authored that email did a good job, the tone is perfect and it hits all the right trigger points.
Maybe I could've worded it better if I replaced "someone" with "innocent highschool student"
It's just fiction lol
They're 18 year old adults inside of a high school building.
That's not the context anyone outside the game's circle would know from a playthrough unless they were previously invested in the genre. [editline]25th January 2017[/editline]
Because "it happening inside of a highschool" is just the moral line you drew for yourself. You personally dislike it when that line is crossed, that's why you think the ban is justified despite no such criteria being defined under Twitch's guidelines. On the other hand, some people grow uneasy when murder takes place period, so why aren't we using those people's opinions to ban some games that actually do focus exclusively on murder, such as most first person shooters? Because it would be ridiculous. Tons and tons of games would end up banned just because someone out there holds an opinion that doesn't approve of them. This is why it's important to at least try to be objective about this kind of thing. Also, "being the most worked on part" doesn't make it an exclusive part.
Amazon's not beholden to be objective about it in any actual capacity other than publicity. They should be, but they are certainly not independently held to it in any framing.
This guy talks like a sixth grader who thinks he found a loophole in a rule and is trying to stretch an argument about how authoritarian/evil (insert entity here) is. What a fucking manchild.
the way he pronounces yandere, it's just wrong and the way he talks really bothers me its kind of creepy and awkward
Someone is creepy for not pronouncing a word from a foreign language correctly. :speechless:
This guy talks like a sixth grader who thinks he found a loophole in a rule and is trying to stretch an argument about how authoritarian/evil (insert entity here) is. What a fucking manchild.
This post reads like an edgy seventh grader who thinks he's above it all and is trying to stretch a burn way too far. I think the major problem with this whole situation is that all of the games on Twitch's banned games list clearly hit a requirement to be banned. Obvious nudity, for example. This game doesn't appear to, as the dev explains in the video. So, Twitch really owes it not just to him, but to all game developers out there, to come forward and clarify their position. Obviously, their broad-strokes requirements is no longer sufficient enough to apply to the grey area of games that this game resides in. If they're going to consider it offensive enough to ban, they're obligated to explain why, in my opinion. It's obvious that the grey area of games is growing and instead of uncomfortably pushing it to the side and pretending it doesn't exist, Twitch should redefine their ruleset to be clear for everybody.
Regardless of what we think of the game, can we at least all agree that it's pretty shitty of twitch to completely ignore him? Even an email that said "twitch reserves the right to ban any game for any reason" would be better than nothing at all.
I don't think the premise of this game is a big deal. I think anyone who knows the difference between games and real life, people who vouch for the ability to slaughter innocent people in games like Hitman and GTA, shouldn't see it as a big deal. It's a shame I know a lot of people will pull a double standard because the game has an anime artstyle, and that suddenly makes the premise bad because people are so stuckup about things they don't like.
This guy talks like a sixth grader who thinks he found a loophole in a rule and is trying to stretch an argument about how authoritarian/evil (insert entity here) is. What a fucking manchild.
I wouldnt be throwing around petty personal insults about how someone presents themselves if that neckbeard in your avatar is actually yours.
I really fucking hate when people use this excuse "Oh she looks 15 years old? nah dude it's your imagination she's actually 20 years old" "This girl? she looks 14 but she's totally 18, trust me all my characters are totally legal and not underage, they just look young!"
Yet porn industry purposefully gets 18-20 y/o actors and make them look very young, 15ish, to fulfill peoples' fantasies while being still legal.
Regardless of what we think of the game, can we at least all agree that it's pretty shitty of twitch to completely ignore him? Even an email that said "twitch reserves the right to ban any game for any reason" would be better than nothing at all.
Absolutely. 99% of the discussion here would not have been needed if Twitch had just come up with the reason they banned the game. It doesn't even have to make much sense, because in the end it is not going to be sensible to some people and others won't care about the why anyway, but at least it would cut down on the pointless arguments.
Because those are demons and monsters being killed, not high school students. Pretty big difference.
fictional high school students
correct me if I am wrong, but why it is so important to be acceptable by Twitch? It is already so popular which I don't see the benefit to use so much energy just for this.... [editline]25th January 2017[/editline] Btw, is it possible the reason why YandereSim get banned for being an incomplete game? Sure, the Dev say all the time that the recent built of the game doesn't have "extreme" elements to be banned, but who guarantee that it will stay like this in the future?
Yet porn industry purposefully gets 18-20 y/o actors and make them look very young, 15ish, to fulfill peoples' fantasies while being still legal.
Porn industry fakes a lot of things :s:

Hence why the video existing. You can argue that his YouTube videos already have plenty of people interested in what he wants to do with the game. Although however that shouldn't be the only platform that his game can be presented at. Capturing the Twitch audience can arguably get more people to try out the game for themselves, which in turn brings in more than the YouTube audience when the game releases. But since it's not allowed to be broadcasted on Twitch, new eyes won't have this opportunity to see the game in action, which in turn means that there is less interest to the game.
fictional high school students
I'm not against this game, I'm just stating that there's a difference between killing fictional people and fictional monsters. The public is more accepting of murdering evil creatures than high school students.

I think it's kind of weird that he mentions the possibility that they emailed the wrong address but not the possibility that he didn't see the email and the fault is his.
Shouldn't have released this 2nd video. He waited a full year waiting for a response from twitch before making the first, they already refused to communicate. There was already no possibility of a win win outcome beforehand.
I think it's kind of weird that he mentions the possibility that they emailed the wrong address but not the possibility that he didn't see the email and the fault is his.
Emails have search functions, and this is a major priority for him. I have no doubts he's searched 'Twitch' in his inbox multiple times and found nothing from them.
This just seems like backpedaling, should've stuck to his guns.
This just seems like backpedaling, should've stuck to his guns.
I'm glad he did this, his original video made quite a lot of bad points
