Goto a borders and pick up the first copy and look through it and then say its anime.
Its a good series, don't have pointless arguments just because some dumb ass can't tell the difference in art syle...Fucking retard.
It's okay, but there are certainly better zombie books / better comics. That, or reading Watchmen 50 some-odd times set my expectations a little too high.
Alright, if this helps...
I saw the thread and i got excited, then i saw the art style and i went ::suicide:: . Then I thought, "Well i shoud post my opinion" (You never said DON'T POST IF YOU HAVE OBJECTIONS). I didn't think you'd go a Sora in my face, yet again you do have an anime avatar so shame on me for posting. Sorry i graced you with my presence.
Wait, are you making kingdom hearts analogies while bashing anime? Isn't that a little ironic?
more generic zombies....
fun. :sigh:
more generic zombies....

Its not focused on the zombies, though. Its about the human interacting with each other in a zombie filled world.
What I don't get, is how a slight anime resemblance can ruin the whole thing for you. Does story just not matter?
What I don't get is how it resembles anime. It's an American comic with normal looking people written/drawn by American people. The only thing resembling a manga is that it's in black and white. :downs:
waiting for a turtle post
Comics sound interesting, dunno how to get into them though.
Wwz = badassery
This comic is not that great.
Yeah, the art is good mostly, even if it's black and white.
The problem is the writing. First off, the characters are not very memorable. There are a couple of good ones but nothing exceptional. Then the dialogue is painfully bad sometimes, especially the female characters. I can't help but think "this is what some clueless guy thinks women talk like" as I read the comics a lot of the time.
Finally, there isn't a lot of story to each issue. Story, meaning some kind of arc(beginning/middle/end). Even in a comic with an ongoing story, each individual issue should have a conflict/resolution payoff, otherwise why am I reading this? A lot of issues in this comic are obviously just filler, just issues the writer has cranked out because one was due that month, not because he had a story to tell.
Example: [sp]The one where the guy was talking on the phone to his wife. That whole issue pretty much was just about that. And what was the point? That he was so stressed out that he thought he was talking to her on the phone? By that point in the series, we know ALL the characters are completely stressed out by what's happening, the last thing we needed was a whole issue telling us what we already know.[/sp]
That said, I still read it because it's the only zombie comic I know of, a regular zombie story I mean. It's basically the only game in town, so for a zombie fan like me I have to read it.
I bought the first Sunday. Bought the second last night. They're great. However I dislike how they changed Art Styles. The orginal artist is much better. And the second one seemed to have a hard time getting a conversation with believable continuity.

I would love to work at a Comic book store, but where I live, it wouldn't turn a profit.
Read it until the fourth book. Got behind. Looked up what happened later on the internet. Was pissed at what was done with the characters. Series went down hill after Vol 1. Tony Moore shouldn't have left. The dude who replaced him couldn't draw for shit.
The Second artist is horrible. Look in book 2 when Donna walks in on some hardcore porn. The panels where she's closing the door not only look bad but make no sense. She turns her hand in -30 degree angle and he door knob is up to her neck. Horrible.
I've got three of the hardback editions. Christ, I love this comic.

I agree, the second artist was shitty. First one was a genius with drawing both the character and the zombies.
First, :suicide:
Then, :zombie:
And everyone goes :toughguy:
But then they go :supaburn:
and die.
I'd rather have Paperbook. They look better.
Read World War Z.
Nah, those books suck.
I read the first book and wondered how he survived his reawakening in the hospital. He's walking around with no gun, potential death all around him. He gets tackled by a zombie and somehow comes out unharmed. It's really weird.
Well, I don't think the zombies are able to open doors.
His room was pretty much locked down to the zombies. Guarded by a single doorknob.
But every one, the send artist was still getting a feel on everything. Later on, he gets better and better.
Great comic. I started reading it roughly 5 months ago, and it's got me turned into a comic book nerd. Issue #48 is the single most shocking thing I've ever read.
The last issue (65) had a great ending...which I'm assuming discussing would be spoiling it. D:
I am just waiting for a zombie crisis to happen bro.
I'm fucking ready.
I'm still waiting.
Although all my food rations are starting to smell.
Why didn't I buy canned goods?
