I don't know how you can truly consider yourself to be Christian yet still support evolution.
By that logic, you can't be a christian if you support eating shellfish.
I'll break it down for you.
If you are Christian, you follow the bible. You believe in god and his creation of Earth.
If you are Christian and support evolution, then god becomes a mere figure in the sky, a deity with no real purpose. Unless ofcourse you take the theistic evolution approach to things where god has created evolution, which is in itself ridiculous.
I don't know how you can truly consider yourself to be Christian yet still support evolution.
In this post for some reason you thought I was implying that Christians are idiots or ignorant for not believing in evolution, when that is not the case.
I personally think that people can believe in what they want to and I'm not one to stop them unless they are inflicting harm.
Do you want me to make a flowchart? I think it'll help you comprehend everything a bit better.
As I thought, you're an idiot, and damn did you really just prove it.
Believing in a deity and calling it God or Jesus != being Christian.
As I thought, you're an idiot, and damn did you really just prove it.
i think i know what hes saying. he is saying that if you are a christian that you should do everything a christian does. hes saying you are kinda only a half christian
I am a Christian, but I also believe in evolution to the extent of adaptation. God would never have created us without giving us an inherent ability to change to our environment. To look from a deity's eyes such a thing would doom the creation.
This is going to without a doubt turn into yet another "Let's bash religion, or let's bash the United States" thread.

and you my friend are an idiot too.
Repeating myself a third time would be wasteful since you both have the reading skills of kindergarteners.

while i do love bashing religion i dont think this would be the place
It's hard to believe something if it didn't affect you
Evolution hasn't been proven, there's still missing links. That's why it's called the theory of evolution.
Right, but saying "An immortal space wizard did it" makes more sense?

Going to, it already has.
StupidUsername67, to any one of your family members or friends who are Christian yet support evolution, are they taking the approach that God created or gave us evolution? If not then who is God to them, what does he symbolize?
Answer the questions or at least be more detailed and explain why you think we are idiots rather than just throwing it out there.

If this is true, you are definitely one of the few here on FP to believe that.
also I'm not Christian. I stated this already, but you don't know how to read within brackets.
i would call you stupid wrong or a troll but. did you know that gravity is also a theory. theory and fact are kinda the same thing
As he floats out of his chair
Perhaps god design evolution to co-exist with science and technology.
Everything evolves. Society evolves. Animals evolves. Building degrades. Weather changes. Change will always happen. Therefore evolution exist because changes exist
Think of evolution this way:

Software Upgrades

"Let's be good people based on this book"
If you really are backing up being a Christian and believing in evolution with protestantism then I have nothing more to say to you.
also I'm not Christian. I stated this already, but you don't know how to read within brackets.
Never said you were Christian.
God planted Fossils in the ground so that he could grow Dinosaurs! Comon! We should all know that.
Perhaps these Americans who do not believe in evolution does not understand the concept of change

You seriously lack the ability to read and comprehend.
The doctrines of the various Protestant denominations and non-denominations vary, but nearly unanimous doctrines include justification by grace through faith and not through works, the priesthood of all believers, and the Bible as the ultimate authority in matters of faith and order.

Sola fide holds that salvation comes by faith alone in Jesus as the Christ, rather than through good works.
What this means is that Protestant Christianity, which is 51% of American Christians, believe in salvation through faith alone. Not by works of God. This means they can believe in whatever scientific facts they want. As long as they have faith in Christ, they're cool beans.
You stated in your first post that because over 50% of America is Christian, 50% of America doesn't believe in evolution. I called that ignorant, as stated above 51% of that is Protestant, whom most believe in evolution. Then you, somehow through works of your own stupidity, interpreted that as me calling Christians ignorant because I said they don't believe in evolution.
What everything boils down to is that you can't read worth a damn and have the comprehension of my 4-year-old sister, which really is an insult to her intelligence.

why must people be jerks to each other when they disagree?
Quality OP....
I believe in Evolution, that doesn't mean it's true (although 99% likely that it is). It's not taught in a lot of schools either.
you're kidding right?
please tell me you are kidding.

It's also why I couldn't be a teacher.
I had a friend who asked me this, entirely seriously. Response?

it's more like asking why there are Americans when there are Australians
becuase they both came from a common ancestor

I believe in evolution, but what we seem to be evolving into seems horrendous.

But seriously, I am fastinated by evolution. I use evolution as elements in almost every book I write.
I'm a Christian and I believe in evolution. God created the world in seven days? He didn't need that time, that's a metaphor, or a mistranslation. I hold more of a creation/evolution hybrid belief.
I, as a catholic, personally believe that most of everything in the Bible, including Adman and Eve, are metaphors or misinterpritations/ mistranslations.
