they dont even need to make a SL 2.0. they can just fix up SL for VR because of how open source it is.
They tried it and it didn't work well with the current system, didn't go beyond Rift prototype headsets. SL is also slowly dying despite all of the positively solid list of updates they have, and run on an already ancient engine that is running on bandaids and used gum SL needs a serious remake. Scrap it all and build new with something that uses a far more flexible engine with modern programming with native VR support in mind so they can simply build from there on up, rather than build on top of a dying game. They're making one with VR support called 'Sansar' [editline]22nd December 2017[/editline] I expect that the best case scenario if they never release Sansar, is SL will continue its steady death until it gets to a certain number of players and just stays afloat on that tiny island of players forever.
Makes it even sadder that no game since has topped it in terms of facial expressions and lipsync. Nowadays even in the games with the best graphics characters just look like puppets with stiff faces.
What :v: Nostalgia goggles in full effect there, mate. There are probably 100 games with better and more expressive facial animation than HL2

The performance is horrendous and the customization leaves much to be desired, it's not nearly as varied, customized and fun as VRchat is. The current Sansar is like a shitty port of SL made by some kind of corporate suits that don't get the point at all.
That's incredible how clear and concise her signing was. I didn't understand any of it until they got it at the end though.
What were they trying to sign anyways? I never figured it out...
I - Pointing at oneself while keeping your arm out Made/Make - Action which looks like you are churning butter This - Both hands left open and show what the person made Character - Pointing at the character and then curling your hands as you go down the body while still pointing at yourself. The wonders of having a deaf cousin who taught you some minor sign language when you were younger. :v:
vr chat is so awesome. im glad its getting the recognition it deserves.
It has already secured over $4 Million in funding by HTC and some others.
It has already secured over $4 Million in funding by HTC and some others.
4 million and they say they will not make a Oculus SDK based version of VRchat smh. But yeah HTC investing that much could perhaps have something to do with it.
Probably way too expressive though.
[twitch]EntertainingBusyPuddingKappaWealth[/twitch] the conclusion
Man, I'm going to need Sabit's character model. Because Reasons.
Sign language in a coop stealth game would be pretty amazing its why we so need hand tracking tbh
I can just imagine that the strategy for the guards is to tell jokes into the open chat to compel the stealth team to laugh and reveal themselves.
