By the way, can someone recommend me more movies like that? They are far too are because I'm apparently the only person to like them :v:
About to watch Upside Down. Should be intriguing.
About to watch Upside Down. Should be intriguing.
It's nothing like the movies I just described, at all. (assuming that's why you quoted me)
Only 600 more days to go until release! aaa
Only 600 more days to go until release! aaa
Thanks for putting that in perspective, Postal. Goddamn it.
I'm glad to see Nolan on something original again rather than the Batman stuff. I know those batfilms were popular and have a lot of fans here and I'm pleased for you but I prefer his other films with characters built from scratch. Just a personal preference. At worst this will be a good film.
I agree, he has a great way of mixing mainstream film with interesting ideas
He's kind of technical sometimes. I watched "Following" the other day and it's very ... clinic. Also I love how it's pretty much muscle flexing for Memento. [editline]19th March 2013[/editline] I just hope they keep Spielberg out of this as far as possible. [editline]19th March 2013[/editline]
I'm really sad about that, movies like A.I., Surrogates, Gattaca, Minority Report and I Robot are my favorite kinds of science fiction movies. Instead of just being fantasy movies set in space (*cough*Star Wars*cough*) they actually explore technologies that will definitely exist in one way or another at some point and what they could mean for us and the implications and advantages. (obviously Precogs will never exist, but a machine like in Person of Interest could which basically does the same thing) Edit: By the way, can someone recommend me more movies like that? They are far too rare because I'm apparently the only person to like them :v:
Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind! [editline]19th March 2013[/editline] Primer
I don't have much faith in Nolan after the atrocious mess that was The Dark Knight Rises. But I could never say no to an ambitious, big budget sci-fi film. I'm glad he didn't end up making superhero movies forever.

Hes that guy that tried being a director or something and did a couple of pretty bad movies, right? He's an ok actor though, as far as I can recall
Oh god no not McGonorrhea... He has his place but it's not this movie, that's for sure.
And in a move that should surprise no-one, Matthew has confirmed he's taken the role. And in standard form for anyone staring in a Nolan film, he wouldn't say a word more than that.
http://www.nolanfans.com/2013/04/04/christopher-nolan-scouting-interstellar-locations-in-iceland/ Looks like Nolan's thinking about heading back to Iceland (used it for Batman Begins). Been doing some location scouting there.

Which would be weird since Looper is quite new.
Anne Hathaway will star with Matthew McConaughey in "Interstellar". How surprising.
Nolan stop being Burton
Anne Hathaway? I didn't think I could get anymore excited. Until now.
rusty will be thrilled
Anne Hathaway and Matthew McConaughey? That's... Interesting?
rusty will be thrilled
She's his favorite actress.
She's his favorite actress.
its true he never shuts up about it to me on steam [editline]9th April 2013[/editline] let us enjoy these moments of peace before rusty comes in here and floods the thread with all his anne hathaway fan art/poetry again
Does rusty like nolan or just batman also I can totally picture rusty just messaging you out of the blue complaining about hathaway
Anne Hathaway? I didn't think I could get anymore excited. Until now.
Opposite effect for me now.
Both of the leads are actors I would consider bad. Especially the guy who's name I can't spell. Anne Hathaway was pretty good in TDKR which gives me some hope that under Nolans direction she'll be good again.
Both of them are just not the right actors for this film. Hate to be a negative nancy... Anne MIGHT be able to pull it off, but MugCHahinaea is an awful fit. Remember him in Contact? Remember?
Maybe Nolan's magic of making meh actors turn good works with McNugget
Both of them are just not the right actors for this film.
Uh kind of a strange statement to make when we only have a title and vague plot description to go on. I'd like to think people had gained a bit more trust in Nolan's casting choices after so many people doubted his choice of Ledger as the Joker, and the hilarious response that got from people at first. Regardless we'll find out how well they work when we see the trailer.
Remember him in Contact? Remember?
That was ages ago and with a different director, I really wouldn't view it as absolute proof matt's gonna suck in this
I'm really surprised he didn't cast Christian Bale as the lead, but I guess he doesn't want to become Burton as someone said earlier in this thread.

Well I'm willing to excuse him pulling a Burton for Michael Caine. But that's it.
