Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" (2014) - Scifi film about time travel and worm holes

the docking soundtrack?
[sp]One thing that bugged me, Cooper shouldn't have fallen into the Black Hole, or even detached at all. If they were using the Ranger as the last boost, losing mass wouldn't have changed a thing, and when he detached he shouldn't have been pulled into the black hole.[/sp]
[sp]Just read a section talking about this in the book 'The Science of Interstellar', the Endurance goes to the critical orbit of the black hole, which is very fine line, the course correction on Endurance is damaged, so they leave the critical orbit and start heading into the black hole. They use all of the thrust from the rockets and have to use the explosive bolts on lander 1 and ranger 2 to get the last kick in order to save the endurance. But ultimately, the explosive bolts only would have had a small effect and Cooper wanted to go into Gargantua in order to learn the laws of quantum gravity from a singularity inside Gargantua and transmit the information back to Earth.[/sp]
I highly recommend the book 'The Science of Interstellar', it elaborates on the science in the film and discusses the bits they had to leave out as not to confuse the mass audience. I'm pretty familiar with the science used in the film now, so feel free to ask questions.
Just watched the movie, it was fucking great.
Deluxe version of soundtrack released and THAT track is not there sadly.
Aww I thought it was like 3/4ths of the way into track 13 but I guess I'm wrong...
Deluxe version of soundtrack released and THAT track is not there sadly.
Assuming you mean the docking track, isn't it 'Imperfect Lock'?
We all thought it was but it isn't. People are accusing them of mislabeling it on purpose and stuff for money reasons. The part of the track with the Spinning Dock cue was not included lol.
People on FFshrine and Hans Zimmer's site are pretty fucking pissed off.
I have a $40 28-Track version of the soundtrack being sent to me tomorrow for final confirmation on whether it's being released at all or not. We only have 24 tracks right now.
It was like, the most intense track in the entire fucking movie it'd better be on the release OST.

Well so far, on the standard OST and the "Deluxe OST" it's not.
This is our final hope:

And I don't think it will include it, tbh.
[sp] The movie was an overall disappointment for me. It seemed like all of the characters other than Cooper, Murph and TARS were just there for exposition. The trailers made made expect a story about exploration and the future. I did like the time dilation elements but most of the writing just felt bad. Fantastic visuals and soundtrack, the acting was good, but I feel the script sank the whole movie down to Mediocre levels.[/sp]
I wish this movie were longer honestly, it felt so quick for a 3 hour movie.
I said fuck it and made my own version of the Docking Sequence by editing tracks from the OST together and adding my own instrument layers.
Enjoy:

This very much. Interstellar is probably the only movie I wouldn't mind watching even if it goes for 6 goddamn hours. It was total sex, mentally, visually and aurally. Came out from a movie with neck paint but I wanted more.

Looks like it isn't, news from Hans:
"We are going to give it away for free...We are just waiting on some additional clearances. But the record company is totally into it. Plus, they are working really hard to make the "Lightbox" available everywhere. It's quite complicated."
Really hope they release it in decent quality, a few of the 256kbps AACs sound pretty bad on the iTunes version
It also needs to be in master race 12" Vinyl.
Just got back from seeing it again (free tickets can't complain)
[sp] I wasn't sure if the docking segment would have the same effect knowing it was coming and how it finished but god damn it still had me gripped, it was such a powerful scene. I'm not one for saying all the contrived shit about it being the best ever and all that but this is the first time i can recall a film having the same effect on me a second time through so hats off to Noland and Zimmer[/sp]
Pissed off that you can't get it anywhere though.
So, a comic explaining the backstory of [sp]Dr Mann[/sp] is coming, penned by the one and only Chris Nolan.

People on FFshrine pissed
Some things never change. At all.
There will be at least a hundred different people make their own. Like you have already have. Someone just straight up recorded the audio from the movie at that part just for it.
I don't know how reliable this is, but apparently the docking scene track is going to be released for free.

After some thought, I have some confusion of the timeline
[sp]When the Endurance first entered the wormhole outside Saturn, Murph was about 12. Then when Cooper got sent back through the wormhole, he "shook" Brand's hand through Endurance, meaning he was in theory going to go back to the Solar System when Murph was 12, yet when he arrived outside the wormhole, Murph was nearly 100.[/sp]

I kind of forgot about that scene, but now that you mention it, it doesn't make a lot of sense. Would someone mind explaining it?

It's different. [sp]When in blackhole he went back in time to the pretty much beginning of the film with young Murph, and he was guiding her going through the different layers of the tesseract (as it was Murph's room in all moments of time). The further he went, he was going along the original timeline, as presented in the film. When the fifth-dimension was closing he managed to meet Brand and himself when they were going through the wormhole, but that was still in order with the original timeline. It was after the other dimension was closed he was thrown away in a random point in time and space (or was it random?)[/sp]
Personally, this is competing with GOTG for movie the year for me.
[editline]19th November 2014[/editline]
Nah, this definitely takes movie of the year for me.

I don't know about anyone else, but this was probably my favorite, I'm possibly probably literally going to see this in IMAX again just for 2:02.
god you guys are making me realize just how amazing the soundtrack was in hindsight
maybe the equalizer at my theater was fucked up (they do pump a ton of bass through the walls) but i'm getting chills hearing these tracks and imagining their scenes where i didn't while watching the movie
man, once this comes out on bluray i'm definitely setting up a movie night with whichever of my friends has the biggest screen
So.. was cooper station made of concrete?
Saw this yesterday, great film film with some amazing shots. It was heavy though
Was really glad I saw it at cinemas instead of DL'ing it
