Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" (2014) - Scifi film about time travel and worm holes

I really hope Hans Zimmer actually does something away from D Minor, not only for the sake of change, but so that this movie can have a rather odd aural landscape. E Minor would still be easy for strings to play, and if he's going to ditch the strings anyway, E Flat Minor would enhance the effect, being an odd sounding key. D Minor is getting really stale, Hans.

If anyone was skeptical about that last source, well, you can now safely say it's officially coming with Godzilla. All 2 minutes and 24 seconds of it.
That's pretty damn long for such a far off movie. I guess it's gonna have some more stock footage again. Or maybe we'll just get a bunch of really long slow shots of space or something.

Three bits of news. firstly, the trailer is apparently even longer then first reported:

Second, the trailer is now being screened for an imax documentary on the Hubble Telescope in a museum in Washington. And lastly, we finally have an official fucking poster:

So the trailer is only being shown in that one location? Weird.

Yeah I've never heard of that before either.
Found the name of the Museum:

Article says its one of the only film IMAXes in the area. They probably wanted to test the trailer a bit before Godzilla. Nolan seems to like to test things (like with the TDK / TDKR prologues)
He changed his iconic sans-serif font!
He changed his iconic sans-serif font!
No, it hasn't been changed. The font for the word "Interstellar" hasn't changed since the teaser.
No, it hasn't been changed. The font for the word "Interstellar" hasn't changed since the teaser.
I said sans-serif. The titular font hasn't changed, I'm talking about the one he was using since Batman: Begins for the entire Batman trilogy and Inception mostly for taglines and billings.

Despite being used in only 4 of his films it's widely recognized as his font (just as Woody Allen is recognized with his font, used in majority of his movies). It's been replaced with this:

Funny thing is, he kept it for billing block, that traditionally is made with different font and color.

So I guess it still remains his font.

they better put this shit on youtube on the 16th
Nolan trailers usually debut on Mondays, but this movie's teaser broke that chain (not counting TDKR's weird full trailer release on a Thursday) by releasing on the Saturday following it's theatrical premiere. But when you consider this trailer is already playing in theaters I'd say they're not gonna wait that long and most likely shoot for Monday again. At least I hope so, that's the last chance I'll have to see it until mid June aaaaa

I am an insane font nerd, yet somehow confused sans-serif with serif. Ehh, I should sleep at better times.

psh, his mcconaissance started with killer joe in 2011
psh, his mcconaissance started with killer joe in 2011
Yeah, while the transition happened in 2011 with Killer Joe, Bernie and Lincoln Lawyer, I'd say he got really noticed out there after Mud in 2012.
i used to hate mcconaughey but hes really brought himself back in the last few years

both broken
Who would want to see bootleg quality?
Saw the trailer before Godzilla, I was pretty intrigued, now I'm fucking HYPED
Basic trailer synopsis:
[sp]Matthew is some kind of former scientist/astronaut I guess? He's living in his farm home, the Earth's gone to shit because food has run out basically, humanity is dying. Michael Caine approaches him and invites him to a drastic program to save humanity's future. He's assigned as a pilot to a spaceship, the only one of its kind with what is presumably an Alcubierre drive, which will leave Earth for good to secure humanity's future. Even if it means sacrificing everyone's lives, including his family for the future of mankind.[/sp]

Holy fuck.
The background song Even Reborn from V for Vendetta is really fitting. Very excited to see this.
That looked fucking amazing.
So someone leaked the script half a year ago. Apparently it was the 2008 draft and should be different now, but there are some things in the trailer that match the leaked script. I don't have it saved so I can't post it, but if it keeps a lot of the stuff from the old script, I'm not gonna be happy.
Plot twist galore, as per usual with Nolan films.
You just need to Google search "Interstellar leaked script"
But yeah the amount of plot twists and the lack of physics / science bothered me (I thought they got Steven Hawking's "rival" to help write this...)
I'm getting a nice 2001 vibe from this movie. Can't wait.
