Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" (2014) - Scifi film about time travel and worm holes

Also the main character has a dead wife. I think I spotted Nolan's contribution to the old script lol. Yet another Nolan film with the death of a woman being a major plot point, jeez he really loves doing that.

Can Nolan ever have a protagonist motivated by something other than loss of a loved person?
"There were rarely more than two or three takes."
this doesn't fill me with happy feelings. not after the Talia death scene in TDKR.
EDIT: i mean.. Nolan's citing 2001 as his main inspiration, where Kubrick took hundreds of takes to make it perfect. Only taking a couple of takes is not good, I don't know why MM was showing that off.
Talia's death scene was really, really, badly done. Is Nolan getting lazier?
[editline]25th July 2014[/editline]
And if it's really ambitious, why only 2 or 3 takes?

Questions?
controversial: i dont think nolan is that good

Following was missing that, same with Insomnia, but neither of them is considered as "truly Nolan's"

I'd say it differently - he's very good at certain aspects, but then not good at all at others.
Talia's death scene was really, really, badly done. Is Nolan getting lazier?
In almost every aspect of TDKR you can feel how it's sort of forced. My best guess is that Nolan didn't want to do it, presumably after Ledger's death. It's visible not only in screenplay, but also direction. Practically all scenes with Talia, retired Wayne or most of the fight scenes are bad. All of this was underneath of massive hype, and certain Nolan-ish big scale moments - The Prison and the Climb, very first scene of the film, first fight between Bane and Batman or stadium, so it wasn't that noticeable at the beginning.
His newer films are more flawed than his older ones IMO. I still find everything he does highly entertaining, but Prestige and Memento are still my absolute favorites.
Following was missing that, same with Insomnia, but neither of them is considered as "truly Nolan's"
Yeah though they still revolved around a dead chick as the major plot point of the film, like all his other films. For Insomnia, it was what started everything, and for following, it's what everything led to. It's always dead women with Nolan lol.

just for clarity, i disagree that your thinking nolan isn't that good isn't controversial
syncopy films always has Hanz Zimmer base his music on a plot point in their movies (or the other way around idk) so i wonder how the interstellar music will work with the movie.
for example Inception music was based off the musical alarm that warns dreamers that their dream was about to end, TDKR music was based off the ritual chanting that was sung when someone tries to escape the pit, some Man of Steel music was based off the Krypton dubstep gun that tried to terraform the earth.
all i'm saying is that some important plot point in Interstellar will sound like this:

inception music was based off that edith piaf song that plays throughout

It's quite obvious nothing in the film is going to sound like some piano playing broken chords along with a slow violin. I agree with you on the implementation of plot directly into the soundtrack though, but that piece of music isn't based on a plot point.
The new trailer is attached to Guardians of the Galaxy, and it'll be online this Wednesday fyiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Good thing I'm planning to watch it on friday night.
The movie's website is starting to come to life.

nothing major yet, just the ability to look around a corn field...
lol that site is kinda neat actually. The sky on the website differs depending on what time it is for you and where in the world you live, and there's "a pulsating series of stars that seem to represent the historic Apollo 11 Moon landing date of July"
but yeah expect the site to update some time today with the trailer.

Can't believe people figured this out lol:

This makes me want to see some more good-to-honest ARG promotions. Nolan's films has a precedence for that after a phenominal one for The Dark Knight, would be cool to see something like that again.

[sp]i think chastain is murphy grown-up[/sp]
So, I saw this trailer in Imax when I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy(great movie) but wow, way to steal my attention. This movie looks so fucking cool. After this trailer the Hobbit Trailer came on, which im really excited for but I think Interstellar may just be better. I hope this is good.
Don't make the mistake of building this up too much. The story I hope will be more than finding a solution to a dieing earth because we have ruined it. Nolan's original films do tend to be better than such simplicities. Can't be a bad film at least.
Did you guys notice that the ship was damaged when it clipped the cloud?
