Genres are quite useful to classify different types of music but writing music in genres is a horrible idea in my opinion.

That's why whenever I compose, I just let the ideas flow. I don't care what it'll end up as. That's why my compositions tend to be progressive as all shit, though. I need to work on constraining my ideas a bit better, and at least try and keep them coherent. :v:

Compositions that contain more than one genre (so to speak) are awesome.
I find it impossible not to write after a genre, I guess it's lack of creativity from my part. I always try to create something and it ends up with me improvising some stuff in a genre I feel like playing and just (try to) create music by that genre.
You are the first person ever to think genres are stupid. The world would be a better place if we were all as original and freethinking as you.
