missing Tortoise, the best post rock band imo
I recognize the band members, but the band isn't "Missing Tortoise". Their name is just "Tortoise".
i meant the list is missing tortoise, guess i should not have capitalized missing huh
yeah i guess so
Explosions In the Sky ftw
Tortoise are fucked up and have some structures that often appear in post-rock, but really, they are more an experimental-something band than a post-rock band, right?
nah man, they were like the originator of post rock
I thought Slint were the main post-rockers? Their sound is a bit more of what I would associate with post-rock too.
I love Sigur Rós, I guess I kinda have to seeing I'm Icelandic.
bump :snoop:
65 days of static is awesome post rock.
I just got into them, their album The Fall of Math is intesne.
Plastic Tree's most recent album ended with a post-rock/shoegaze instrumental. Absolutely lovely, I had tried a little post-rock in the past thanks to this thread but never really got into it. After hearing this though I am once again interested.
So far what us Facepunchers enjoy:
No Talk Talk? They invented the genre!
I like Amesoeurs. I seen them labeled Black Metal/Post-Rock. Most of their stuff ain't as much Black Metal then Post-Rock. I might be wrong since I don't know much about Post-Rock. You been warned.

I'll check out some of the bands posted
Is post rock similar to progressive rock?
sometimes there's a crossover, but not explicitly usually progressive rock is too pretentious and full to be close to post-rock
