Honestly, what put's me off this game so much, is the fucking loading times. I literally have to wait a minute for each section.

The comparison to BL is really good though... They're both semi-open world shooters with RPG elements like leveling and loot. Both use the same fucking enemies over and over with bosses usually just being an ordinary mob but bigger and recolored. They're really fucking similar.

Hmm, I still prefer to have the ability to use any weapon in an FPS game with as limited progression weaponry as possible. It was really frustrating playing APB due to the lack of decent weaponry when you start out, you could get swarmed with MGs or snipers all day long and still be unable to tout anything better than a piddly SMG or handgun to combat them. Let alone the people that had grenade launchers/rockets - fuck those people.

Destiny just looks like Halo, but with worse guns, less vehicles, more limitations, a worse story, and worse level design. which is a shame considering that it's damn pretty

I honestly think this is partially the result of the split between Bungie and 343. Back when they were working on the Halo series as one, if the dev commentaries of the Halo games are anything to go by, they were a bunch of enthusiasts who were basically bros with eachother, and really damn good at working together or so it seemed. Then some of them stayed behind on Halo as part of 343, and the rest went off to work for Activision under Destiny. More than likely, this caused a pretty large split in the devs who effectively knew what made Halo good. It's like John Carmack and John Romero being separated; no iD game after Doom or Quake 1 had quite the same charm or spirit anymore, besides maybe Quake 3 (and that basically reused elements of Q1 and Q2 as a multiplayer shooter). Maybe the same thing happened here, what with some of the people that could've given Destiny a much more cohesive design still being back at 343 or having quit altogether, while 343 lacks some of the folks that helped really make Halo what it is. A lose-lose situation for both developers.

The only character I found funny was Knoxx because he was at least semi-self aware of how gimmicky and shitty the universe was and made condescending comments about its stupidity.

It was a bit obnoxious that the humor would rely on internet fads, yeah, but that's such a secondary problem. The game lacks good story because the writer is an obnoxious manchild who's still on the kindergarten logic of "I made a poop sound and people chuckled so if I do it again five times they'll surely laugh even harder" and the entire game is basically him struggling to fit his childish humor into a universe he hasn't created in the first place and doesn't seem to understand anyway. Long story short Borderlands 2 is obnoxious as fuck on many aspects but people somehow focus on the least harmful sides of the shit story.

I bought it despite the negative press because I trusted Bungie to make a game I'd enjoy, and now I feel like a fool. I rarely ever regret purchases.

Its pretty much what i thought it would be. I've played plenty of MMO and MMO like games to know that the story gets butchered and never survives the MMO aspect. My main problem with the game is how bad the bosses are. Bullet sponge bosses are 0 fun.
