I've played through 2033 about seven times now and I still have no fucking idea how to read that watch. It was completely terrible.
How can you not read the watch? There's four arms, hours minutes seconds and then filter. three of them are pointless and all you need to focus on is the little arm within the 3 colored zones between the 1 and 3 which tells you how much time you have left per filter. You can also tell when you need a new filter when your vision becomes obscured and you hear heavy breathing. The 3 leds represent your visibility. Red Yellow Green. Red means you're very visible and easily seen. Yellow means your partially visible and if an enemy looks in your direction they will see you. Green means you can't be seen at all. The watch is actually very straight forward, the only downfall was that you couldn't know EXACTLY how many minutes and seconds you had left on your filter.
Actually I think they are using most of the same sounds from the first game. Which I think belong to some very widely used sound asset. I remember wood breaking has the same sound like HL2.
I hated the sounds in Metro 2033. Most of the sounds, especially those of reloading animations, were also used in Counter Strike, which meant I could never stop thinking about it whenever I played Metro. I'm still looking for a mod that replaces them or something
He's probably just playing it on an easy difficulty so they can show off the game without getting killed
a lot of demos seem to have 'bhudda mode' enabled, i.e. you get the taking damage effects but you don't die, the lowest you get is like 1 health
Oh wow, those LED lights on your watch were for stealth? Luckily, I sneaked okay without that knowledge, I thought they told you if environment was toxic or something.
jesus, call me dumb. until now, I always read it as "Last Night", I even heard it like that when someone said it anyways, it looks really good, time to upgrade
i thought the exact same thing didn't realise it was actually 'light' until the guy in the video said it
Seems a bit "Modern FPS"-ized to me, but it'll still be good probably.
Metro 2033 was pretty Modern FPS-ish too [editline]21st April 2013[/editline] The only downside is the "protect the point" part. I hate it when games do that, those were my least favorite parts of HL2
i like the exploring
All I want is ranger hardcore back. It's a shame that ranger mode is a preorder bonus only :|

[editline]20th April 2013[/editline] See the red arm? thats all you need to focus on.
The new watch in last light is a nixie watch, which people somehow thinks is a led watch. This should be much easier to read, although it would be cool if you could choose which watch you want to use. Anyway, the things I hope to see in this game would be: -More options, like an ACTUAL FOV slider, not that annoying stuff outside of Metro -Turn on/off hitmarkers and other helping assets in the menu. -A better way to walk in the game, it was tedious as hell in metro 2033, when everybody walked slowly and you could only run. -Ranger mode should be standard, not that pre-order thing, it completely transferred metro 2033 to a new game, one where you actually had to make every shot count.
They really do need to tweak ranger mode though. It was neat but just too....well hard is the point but it was irrationally hard. The point is to make you really scavenge for supplies and make things tough by weakening dirty bullets . But i want to be able to actually find ammo for once. It annoyed me how during bridge in metro 2033, an active warzone between the reds and the the nazi's, i would find MAYBE 10 rounds of 5.45 ammo despite killing upwards for 15 guys with fully loaded weapons.
