Where would someone get the tools to make "High class" indie games if they can't even manage to scrape together money for a computer? There are much better causes money can go to.
I would if it was for a good cause.
Depends what its for.
I'd donate as much as i could. Always enjoyed sharing stuff :3:
Buy me Splinter Cell conviction on steam then :buddy:
If I knew your background experience if you did plan on making a commercially available indie game, sure I would invest in your plans.
As a few individuals have already said, if you were a developer, or a creator of a project which would later have a capacity of being applied/made public/have instructions for it posted publicly. Most individuals most likely would not donate to you for purely personal reasons.
So you're asking if we'd give some guy money to buy a new computer, which he would use to make a new game, and the proceeds of which he'd give to a charity while still taking some for himself? Fuck no. One, he'd be making a profit and we'd be getting no return. That's a crappy investment, not a donation. Two, pirates. Three, we could just donate to the charity instead where we know it would DIRECTLY go to helping people. If I have spare money, I'm not going to give it to some loser computer nerd so he can make a video game. I'd either use it for myself or donate it directly.
WOW, chill out. I was actually doing this for 100% charity, to build up a brand Identity of the software company. and If you want donate directly and get nothing in return e.g. No thanks, nothing to mess around with, sure Do it, do it now? My offer was a donation of any price, In return for some games, non-profit organisation, also is a fitting thing to have on a CV when applying to Uni. or a software designing job. I asked about the computer, cuz It's true, How can I possible sell a game that is being ran on a 2009 game engine but being ran off a 2001 PC? that would be almost un-ethical.
I might help if you did something constructive with your new PC. Like making music/programs/games and making them freeware.
If I knew your background experience if you did plan on making a commercially available indie game, sure I would invest in your plans.
Sure, I totally understand that, I better get to work then :)
I'll donate if you pay me to donate
I should Probably be asking now, what would one have to do to make you donate?
Show something that you've made. Preferably a game you're working on and asking people to donate to support it. Nobody's gonna donate only for promises. Examples are good but I still wouldn't donate. It's kinda like seeing a bunch of shirts in a store and paying to get "something from the guy who made these shirts". I'd rather see the shirt I'm buying, be it pictures, an unfinished product or anything.
Buy me Splinter Cell conviction on steam then :buddy:
Maybe next year, when i'm planning on purchasing a credit card
Don't expect help from me.
What if the situation the owner was in, makes them unable to work?
That's your problem. no. Indie Game development isn't Research for child's play, it's a way to make money.
GameDev, You obviously don't understand what I am trying to find out. But ye, It is a way to make money, It is also a way to build up a good Image on a software company. Its a good building block to start.
WOW, chill out. The only thing I can think of that would make you unable to work yet mean you're still looking towards working in a software design job is that you're under 16. Which I would then say suggests you're probably not dedicated enough to do this or follow fully through. That and if I wanted to donate to charity I would cut out the middle man (you) and do it straight to them.
I should Probably be asking now, what would one have to do to make you donate?
Be a starving African child and be around when I have spare change in my pocket
It isnt a justified cause.
Fuck Child's Play and helping kids pay for stuff, that's what sweatshops were invented for.
Depends, however I don't really trust a person's word easily on the internet.
Actually I would probably support an animal than another human with donations, to be honest. Because animals cant fight back against Humans and most are defenceless. Humans on the other hand, Have there gift of Logical thinking, at some point in time, we were all "As poor as Africans". But we got on with it? Didn't evolution trace back all the way to us originating from Africa? and doesn't that mean they should be one of the most advanced civilisations of today? PLEASE READ THE OTHER COMMENTS BEFORE POSTING STUPID ONES, I HATE REPEATING MYSELF!!
If the guy has some of his earlier work to show off. 1.900 posts!
Only if I knew the money would actually be used for a good purpose and the guy wasn't full of shit.
I totally agree with you, I just am buzy atm :Z ICT Exam 2moz. I will set up a website to show you some of the stuff.
PM me, let me know where you are, and what you need. You pay shipping.
I know when an offer is too good to be true, Thanks Anyway.
I donate to those who actually DESERVE donations. I don't give handouts to lazy shits who don't work or spend frivolously.
I donate to those who actually DESERVE donations. I don't give handouts to lazy shits who don't work or spend frivolously.
Hey, Chill your gob. I ain't lazy, I am a student with very little next to no time free, so working would just take up the little of what I have, free time to do whatever the hell I want. I haven't been granted a student loan since DAVID SHITHEAD got into power and no job around is worth going thru an 8 hour school day constantly trying to beat the coursework piles back down. I can get a job in the summer. I am NOT Lazy compared to 95% of the teenage population, considering I am going to be starting to work at a Nuclear Powerplant at the age of 17. I work hard in anything I do.

An example of this is of Leopold II of Belgium.
Hey, Chill your gob. Which leads to, why is this guy any different than the same people in this situation?
