as beautiful sounding as the el capistan is, I couldn't possibly justify spending that much on an echo pedal no matter how fancy
Yep. Took a dive, not even a slither of buyers remorse, I LOVE it. And more to the point I already spent about £150 that week on other pedals too.. I have a problem :|
I'm already looking to buy another Big Muff.. I really miss some good old muff fuzz, since mine broke last month. Though I am hunting for one as cheap as possible until I can get around to sending my other one off for repair.
Telling you mang, look at the Deviever fuzz series. They're beautiful.

I want straight forward muff fuzz, nothing else. :p

There's nothing that does the same better and cheaper.
I know, I really want one but it's that or rent
Musicians paying rent? DOH HO HO ! ! !
yeah as funny as it sounds some musicians do pay rent
I was joking :p
but of course it's late, you can't expect too much from me
I think rather than get the dano-pro I'll go with the godin radiator, putting my first pay check on it.

Week after is of course going on that expression factory.
thinking about getting a decent octave/fuzz pedal, any suggestions?

I looked at the octavia but it's a bit too warm (and expensive) for my tastes. The Fillmore Thunder looks and sounds really nice but again is a lot more expensive than I can handle.
playing bass here, how difficult would you guys say rapper's delight is
rapper's paradise? you mean rapper's delight? it's a pretty easy song, getting the right tone for it is what's tough

Try find a used Dunlop Octavio if you can get past the warmness, they're pretty good as a go-too octave fuzz.

I'm sure you can hear what's wrong with my current octave/fuzz pedal
[editline]23rd May 2011[/editline]
and by the way that click at 0:03 was me tapping the pedal with my shoe, not turning it on. I have to jar it around to even get it to work
Oh.. do you want octave up or octave down? And I can't really hear what the problem is.. it sounds like it isn't tracking very well. What octave pedal is it?
it was both ways when I got it but signals keep cutting out. it's some homemade pedal I got at a flea market for $15
I opened it up to try and fix that issue where I had to jar it to get it working and it was all on a breadboard :v:
Ah. Welp.. the Octavio is what I would go for but that's because I want that specific sound.
Octave fuzz is pretty samey most of the time so it'll be hard to find something different.
Just my luck.
My pedals finally arrive, and my old practice amp (the only amp I currently have access to) decides that this is an excellent time to not work for no apparent reason.

Wow that sucks. Are you sure that it's the amp and not the cables?

Pretty sure seeing as the amp refuses to turn on.
Oh well, my school has amps available at lunch break, I'll test them out then. Plus I have a guitar lesson, so I can use them plenty enough tomorrow.
And here are some pictures!

Catalinbread Montavillian Echo delay (damn it's sexy)

Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail Plus reverb
What is a good amp to use pedals on, I was thinking of some kind of orange amp...
This motivated me to start my own pedal collection sometime. :v:
you're on the right track. Orange tiny terrors
I am thinking of buying this.

Good idea or not?
There are so many instruments and effects I want right now it's not even funny.
I want that digitech expression pedal, waiting on my deviever fuzz effect, want that Godin radiator, want a new normal scale mandolin, a republic Miniolian, and now I'm jonesin' for a Weissenborn.
I need a better paying job :(
working on the solo of jetpacks was yes and pretty much the entire butternsips songs by periphery
this is gonna be a long year
Orange amps arent the best for taking pedals.. they're not exactly known for having good clean sounds.
I'm planning on buying a guitar from a friend, with no experience.
How do I learn to play guitar? Or what would you guys recommend?

I recommend that you get a good teacher, it certainly helped me a lot.
You are more likely to like the instrument too when you have a good teacher because you usually progress faster with a teacher.
get a teacher

i learned single-handedly
