I too am interested in this, because that seems like an amazing duplication for what is likely a fraction of the price.
$150 US direct from the manufacturer on eBay. Seems like one hell of a good buy
$150 US direct from the manufacturer on eBay. Seems like one hell of a good buy
Approximately 1/20th of the cost of a Triple Rec and Mesa 4x12. So, hell yes it is.
Approximately 1/20th of the cost of a Triple Rec and Mesa 4x12. So, hell yes it is.
Well it's not quite the true Mesa sound, but it's damn close. I'm thinking I'm going to get it. The stock distortion on my Crate is starting to sound a bit dull and monotonous to me
A pedal can't make you sound like someone else but it can point you in the right direction. Amp size, speaker size, amount of speakers, wattage, quality of components, digital/tube?, head/cab/combo.. these all make the "sound" of a certain amp, not a pedal plugged into your 15 watt practice amp or even a high quality tube amp. Modelling amps and digital pedals like the AdrenaLinn or VOX Tonelab get close because they have digital processors that use their own EQs and algorithms to make these sounds but your amps EQ can make all the difference as well. I think the best example of this misconception is people thinking buying a Ibanez or Maxon Tubescreamer (well, any Tubescreamer but those are the go-to versions) will make you sound like Stevie Ray Vaughan because he used one. Not really, he used one to push a plethora of amplifiers that were EQ'd to be his 'sound', the Tubescreamer will give you his kind of overdrive characteristics, not his tone. For some reason I just went on a big dime about this.. I dunno why.

All those people who go out and buy someones signature gear to sound like someone else when A.) It's not, and B.) They shouldn't be aiming for that anyway. Like when people buy things like the VOX Satchurator, thinking it'll make them sound exactly like Joe Satriani.
Just finished a sort of tester/proof of concept ambient track. It's quite nice.
I'm a know it all
Yes your opinion not fact OPINION
I don't claim to be a know it all.. you can't call me a know it all and then aknowledge that I was only giving my own opinion and not stating fact. I never said it was fact.. but it's pretty well accepted by most that they're bright harsh amps that suit well to a bit of gain for a really british sound. [editline]26th May 2011[/editline] It really irritates me the way you worded your post. You could have been less of an arsehole about it. "Not fact, OPINION" even when I included "IMO" in my post. God you're an idiot.

God you're an idiot.
And you're a faggot who posts in the guitar discussion thread acting like he knows everything that's everything about guitars an amps and then you finally state that "IT WAS JUST MY OPINION" You post like you're top dog and quite frankly you're not (User was banned for this post ("Flaming." - postal))
Ok so what we have deduced form your post is that.. i post in here sharing my opinion with other like-minded people.. and I make sure that it's clear that is' my opinion.. which is as fair as anyone elses.. and yet I'm "the know it all"? I don't denying knowing a fair bit about guitars and relevant gear because I'm entusiastic about it.. but I don't claim for one second I know more above everyone else or that I'm right and everyone else is wrong. I can't even begin to comprehend where this sudden disdain is stemming from.. what was your point when you say I come in acting like I know everything about guitars and amps and then finally state 'in my opinion'. Why is that a bad thing? Surely that means I'm making it clear that it's not a fact and that I'm only sharing my view? [editline]26th May 2011[/editline] Are you 12?
fact is, orange amps have a beautiful clean sound.
Oh god.
peh, i'm just joking. i kind of like it though. i don't really get why nonikai is flipping out like this, but sometimes you do act like a know it all LasGunz. stating opinion as fact is not nice as you might have noticed in my last post. you shouldn't either therefore. you kind of just stated that orange amps have a bad clean sound, while many will disagree, there was no imo in your post fyi.
I just got railed for sharing my !!OPINION!! on Orange cleans and you come in and say it's fact yet I bet Nonikai comes back and talks shit at me again rofl.
I have no need to, I get payed for playing at the local bar so I know my Orange is handling my pedals fine.
Ahaha alright then. You're the one arguing that I was sharing an opinion not fact but you're going on as if I'm saying it's fact? Make up your fucking mind.
No I'm saying that the way you present your opinions. You present them as if they're facts.
But I don't? If I say it's my opinion I meant it's my opinion. And your perception of what "handling pedals" means might differ from what mines means. Perhaps you like the charectaristics your pedals impart on your Orange, perhaps I don't like how mine react with Orange amps. Perhaps you're a total dickbag lashing out at me for no justifiable reason or perhaps I'm wasting my time arguing with someone who claims I'm 'a faggot' yet touts that they get paid to play at some shitty dive in their town so THEY know it all about amps handling pedals.
Orange amps arent the best for taking pedals.. they're not exactly known for having good clean sounds.
theres no imo in there, and it certainly is not a fact.
Don't take everything at face value :)
just commenting on you claiming you don't state opinion as fact.
But I don't? If it's fair to say I didn't specify that it was an opinion then it's just as far to say I didn't specify it was a fact. I'd just expect sensible people to understand I'm not trying to be a know it all and that I'm sensible enough to understand peoples opinions differ.. doesn't seem like Nonikai is that kind of person. Even calling me a faggot just because I post a lot here about different things.. some people aren't even worth the time.
you stated your opinion as fact, the fuck are you doing denying this. nonikai went out of line, but that doesn't make you right
and him calling me an idiot is not going out of line lol
Ok what the fuck, now you're going to start spouting non-sensical shit? I never stated my opinion as fact, I never clarified it was an opinion. [editline]26th May 2011[/editline]
and him calling me an idiot is not going out of line lol
Hardly. You are being idiotic, lashing out for no reason.. I didn't even provoke it - it was uncalled for AND you weren't making any sense in your arguement. "That's your opinion, not fact.. just opinion so you're a twat for sharing it!!"
who gives a shit, this isn't leading anywhere however i'm progressing through buttersnips slowly. i now know the full first 12 seconds of the song, along with 1:33-1:38 "woho"
Made my trade today, now the proud owner of a Yamaha SA503TVL :buddy: I'll try and provide pics when my brother stops running naked around the house
Nice one. I'd love a nice hollowbody sometime. Even the Epiphone 335 looks nice.
It's the exact specs I've been looking for in a guitar lately. 3 P90s, Bigsby, semi hollow and it sounds amazing [editline]26th May 2011[/editline] Also it has a neck like a tree trunk :buddy:
Haha nice. Bigsby would definitely be a selling point for me as well.
