Isn't it just tuned a full step down?
the tab i've got is
C#
G#
E
B
F#
C#
The original might be tuned down a full step, but this tab on guitar pro says otherwise, so i just played it in standard, it's the same sound.

The Metallica versions I saw were 1 step down, are you looking at the cover or the original?

Oh, sorry. Yeah the Metallica one is one step down, and the original is in something else afaik. Sabbra Cadabra is 1 step down though yeah, sorry, though you were talking about the original.
I have an electric guitar but I feel that I would play more if I had one acoustic, the thing I'm wondering is if it's worth to sell my electric guitar to buy an acoustic or to trade it for an acoustic or just keep it and save for an acoustic. I am not planning on working with music but I like to play guitar and it's a fun hobby.
It's a vicous cycle, you're going to sell your electric, then want an electric.
heres a better example of the big muff being phat as fuck.
you can still hear me strumming the guitar a bit because im only using a pillow to soundproof the amp and mic.. it's late so i can't do much but this tone is incredible. i don't usually use this much gain but after seeing neil young at live aid doing Ohio I had to get close to it.
soundclouds not working so dropbox will do

wait for the end chord it's fucking godly.
Couldn't one just de-tune the guitar strings until they are quite loose, then change pickups and tune it back after?

To change pickups you need to remove the entire pick guard.
[editline]15th March 2011[/editline]
And even then.. there's absolutely nothing wrong with outright removing the strings and putting the same ones back on. They don't become weak or anything when they're removed. The "kinks" in the strings will be in the same place when you restring it.

I don't have a pickguard....
My guitar is back routed. I just don't want to get new strings yet.
You could still take the strings off and put them back on when you're done, why do something that will kind of work instead of something that will? :p

If you can/do consistently string a guitar "correctly" then it should have no problems.

Okay, if I do swap them, I'll probably take them off completely then.

I just waited till my strings were ready to be changed when I swapped the pickups in my rg :v:

How much is dead cheap?
[editline]15th March 2011[/editline]
Also, here's a Vintage Seymour Duncan JBJ (Marciela Juarez wound) that is like 25 years old if anyone is interested. I was thinking of getting it too.

Dead cheap for that is $2000AUS. Plus the colour is discontinued and it's the colour I've always wanted.
Coil taps won't sound as good as the real deal :p
But they sound perfectly good to somebody who doesn't want the single-coil clean tones that the real deal provides.
coil taps sound better to me
almost like stretching glassss

You lucky son of a bitch I want one so badly
$2000 is damn good. I played several PRS guitars at my local dealer and they were more in the region of $3000. They played like fucking butter though, and ever since that day my dream guitar has been the C22.
never really been too much a fan of PRS's. Dunno why, they're great guitars. I guess I'm a tele kinda guy

Yeah it was a hell of a find. It's been my dream guitar for about 3 years now. I'm so happy with it.

Teles are great. I'd quite like a semi-hollow tele, they sound awesome.
been dying for a hollowbody lately :)
Yeah me too. I want either a hollow tele or an Ibanez George Benson sig. Ibanez hollows are awesome.
Didn't absinthe think 7 strings were stupid? :smug:
Personally, I think it's definitely worth having one in your arsenal. I bought one, immediately loved it and subsequently said to myself "I'm never buying another 6 string ever". Since then, I've gone back to using 6 strings moreso, depending on what you're playing the extra string can actually be limiting. Although there have been many times when I've picked up my seven, and the extra string really opens up your songwriting possibilities. I've written more music with my 7 but I play with 6 more often if that makes sense.
I don't think I'll buy another one in the near future, but after I have bought several PRSs I might get one with a longer scale (or even multiscale) because the low B is too floppy on my 25.5" scale Ibby.
