Ok what the fuck, now you're going to start spouting non-sensical shit? I never stated my opinion as fact, I never clarified it was an opinion. [editline]26th May 2011[/editline] Hardly. You are being idiotic, lashing out for no reason.. I didn't even provoke it - it was uncalled for AND you weren't making any sense in your arguement. "That's your opinion, not fact.. just opinion so you're a twat for sharing it!!"
You are thick as a brick
It's the exact specs I've been looking for in a guitar lately. 3 P90s, Bigsby, semi hollow and it sounds amazing [editline]26th May 2011[/editline] Also it has a neck like a tree trunk :buddy:
Are you talking about the Epiphone Riviera, or another Gibson/Epi hollowbody?
The guitar I just posted about, the Yamaha SA503TVL :v: Mine is black though
I need one of these: Always wanted a guitar synth.
Ahhh the ignore button. <3
That was the worst argument ever.
more proof that lasgunz is the worst thing to happen this thread anyway how many of you have guitar rig? I'd like to start sharing some patches
I've been meaning to get it for a few weeks, have never got around to it unfortunately.
it's great fun to play around with though I end up using it more for drum and bass production than guitar :>
its funny i could have sworn this was a guitar Discussion thread.
its funny i could have sworn this was a guitar Discussion thread.
I will always think of you as the guy who went "GUISE!!!! the natural minor scale is AWESOME!!!1!111!" :v:
alright. here's the deal 3 days ago i found a line 6 pod xt for about 3 dollars.. ofcourse it'd go up in price but what the fuck. now it's up at 50 dollars and there's still 2 days and 20 hours to go. fuck my life. i was planning on buying it if it was cheap because i've already got a zoom r16 but since the pod is obviously better.....
line 6 :colbert:
line 6 :colbert:
Not all Line 6 is bad.. their pedals are great as are a lot of their amps. It's really just their entry level (Spider) amps that are poopy.
**IN MY OPINION**

more proof that lasgunz is the worst thing to happen this thread anyway how many of you have guitar rig? I'd like to start sharing some patches
Maybe not worst thing but most provocative thing. The worst thing is the "lol you guys need to know theory/fifteen other instruments/how to play jazz to be a true musician" guys we used to get here and there. And I do but you don't want any of my patches. I kinda moved on to Amplitube for most stuff, GR4 just doesn't have enough amp or pedal models for me anymore, so it's mostly full of effect presets for Traktor 12/Reflektor and really low-load patches for running synths or samples through when composing.
line 6 :colbert:
Line 6. Don't forget the Darkslicer rules.
I will always think of you as the guy who went "GUISE!!!! the natural minor scale is AWESOME!!!1!111!" :v:
i was hoping you lot had forgot about that :P
i was hoping you lot had forgot about that :P
Never forget
A pedal can't make you sound like someone else but it can point you in the right direction. Amp size, speaker size, amount of speakers, wattage, quality of components, digital/tube?, head/cab/combo.. these all make the "sound" of a certain amp, not a pedal plugged into your 15 watt practice amp or even a high quality tube amp. Modelling amps and digital pedals like the AdrenaLinn or VOX Tonelab get close because they have digital processors that use their own EQs and algorithms to make these sounds but your amps EQ can make all the difference as well. I think the best example of this misconception is people thinking buying a Ibanez or Maxon Tubescreamer (well, any Tubescreamer but those are the go-to versions) will make you sound like Stevie Ray Vaughan because he used one. Not really, he used one to push a plethora of amplifiers that were EQ'd to be his 'sound', the Tubescreamer will give you his kind of overdrive characteristics, not his tone. For some reason I just went on a big dime about this.. I dunno why.
I use a tubescreamer because I like the boost it gives to my sound. Plus, when I have my preamps cranked at 9, the tube screamer can add some clarity by changing the tone knob. Then I got into the blues music a while ago, and everyone thinks I'm trying to emulate srv until I tell them I got the tube screamer a LOOOOOOOOOOOOng time ago. Admittedly, I want the vibroverb because it makes my strat sounds more like a strat. And unfortunately, its another srv amp... god damnit.
What's wrong with sounding like srv He has an orgasmic tone
He played blues, I play blues He played a vibroverb, I want a vibroverb He used tubescreamers, I use tube screamers I had got to be damned well creative if I want to not be another SRV ripoff.

**IN MY OPINION**

People really need to start realizing this. They make some rubbish stuff, but they make some amazing high end stuff.

Not comparing my self by any means but John Mayer is a great example of this weird hybrid. I only wish to become an 1/8th as good as he is some day. [editline]27th May 2011[/editline]
Oh yeah, thats just my opinion.. its not a fact that john mayer is a SRV/Hendrix hybrid.
I try to keep a nice garage tone without sacrificing clarity, it's a tough thing to do
People really need to start realizing this. They make some rubbish stuff, but they make some amazing high end stuff.
Yeah doesn't Chimp Spanner use a line 6 pod x3? Nothing wrong with his stuff
Even more notably, Steven Wilson uses a Pod X3. And I dare you to tell me Deadwing doesn't sound fucking incredible

Oh yeah, thats just my opinion.. its not a fact that john mayer is a SRV/Hendrix hybrid.

Stop being a tool
