My dad gave it to my recently, and he doesnt know a lot about it since he was given it as well, but he tells me it's a copy of an Epiphone Dove. The company is J Watson & Co and on the inside of the guitar theres some writing
J.Watson & Co
Est.1951
The best quality guitar
model no. WD150BK
It's made in Japan.
How does it sound? If it's made in Japan it's probably at least half-decent.
thought i would post a picture of my latest setup

If I remember correctly, they included their prices in the model number.
So, the guitar originally cost 180,000 yen, equaling about 1,860 dollars. :)
Nice guitar you've got there, that company is no more.
Try and find proof to that instead of trying to remember plus where are you getting 180 from?
been dying for a hollowbody lately :)
My mate recently bought a Squier Hollowbody Telecaster, The thinline series. It sounds fantastic, don't double the Squier name. Their more pricey guitars are surprisingly good, especially their Tele's.
(He paid £300 for it, it's usually about £350 I think)
Might as well post my stuff here.

HT5 bro fist
Just got her Monday. :smugdog:

have you used the 27th fret yet?
Hah, the note hardly even sounds. Hopefully I can fix that with a set up. I'm still getting used to 24 after playing a Les Paul so long.
Just changed around on my tone, this came out (2 guitars and 1 bass guitar in the middle) meshuggah soundish and I nailed the bass when comparing it perfectly!

It's a rough check so peaking and all that is in there, gonna change something around frequencies and see how much better it can get :v:

I used my guitar for the bass!

Pickguard and strings came today for my repair project, getting the tuner tomorrow...
Nice one. Gilmoury.
Didn't absinthe think 7 strings were stupid? :smug:
Personally, I think it's definitely worth having one in your arsenal. I bought one, immediately loved it and subsequently said to myself "I'm never buying another 6 string ever". Since then, I've gone back to using 6 strings moreso, depending on what you're playing the extra string can actually be limiting. Although there have been many times when I've picked up my seven, and the extra string really opens up your songwriting possibilities. I've written more music with my 7 but I play with 6 more often if that makes sense.
I don't think I'll buy another one in the near future, but after I have bought several PRSs I might get one with a longer scale (or even multiscale) because the low B is too floppy on my 25.5" scale Ibby.
I vaguely remember having that discussion in the metal asylum years ago
so yeah I guess you're right but I've changed my mind since I actually started playing

The only person who complained about string count in here was a troll three theads ago or some shit.

Wasn't it hypnotoad
Don't care much for more than 6 strings my self. It's kind of like the Ibanez thing.. it generally attracts or 'suits' a certain type of person or guitarist which I'm not.
Nothing against the users of it regardless of their genre, it's just not for me :p
You're the only person I know who things Ibanez attracts a "certain type" of guitarist.
It's like all the stereotypes I'd chuck at cheap Dean/B.C. Rich users applied to Gibson or some shit, I just don't get the reasoning.
Ibanez are usualy pointy, hi-gain, "metal" guitars. I'm not saying they all are and I know they make some mighty fine guitars, included some not so pointy guitars but as it goes superstrats go hand in hand with heavy distortion guitarists. And again I'm not saying they aren't use low-gain, clean or for anything that isn't metal.. but all the 'heavy' guitarists I know use Ibanez (or some are brainless enough to buy a Dean or something) and none of the ones that aren't 'heavy' don't really touch them except one who's like a cross between both. He uses a huge array of different guitars for all genres of music because he's essentially a session guitarist.
So I think I might have fucked up my thicker E-string on my acoustic guitar.
One day, I wanted to play "Skinny Love" by Bon Iver and I had to tune the E-string all the way down to C in order to make it sound like in the recording.
After a while of tuning I got bored because I wanted to play something else and tuned everything back to standard tuning (EADGBE) but I noticed that my thicker E-string began to sound "wobbly" - like it's a bit looser.
I just thought nothing of it, it's probably normal seeing as the strings hadn't been tuned down so much since the guitar was made (I got it 4-5 months ago then)
Well, today, I still have the same problem with the string. It still sounds wobbly and I can't get the E-string to sound quite like the E-note anymore (sort of). Any thoughts on why?

Stereotyping guitars because of their looks (yes i disregard your statement about sound because that's just plain stupid, Ibanez axes are among the most versatile guitars out there..) is just wrong, sure the RG and S series ("pointy superstrats") are the most popular models, but that doesn't mean they're everything Ibanez users care for. Jeez man open up.
Ibanez make awesome semihollows

Bullshit.
man what is it with people and Dean
there is nothing wrong with what they produce. mine is not a USA made one and it's perfectly fine
Bullshit.
Heavy metal guitarists would probably use ESP/LTD, B.C. Rich, Dean, Some Gibsons, Jackson, Schetcer and a few others here or there like PRS and Agile.
When I hear Ibanez, I think of Steve Vai, or Satriani.

Should probably sell my Schecter, my PRS and my Agile then :v:

I bet it's tuned an octave down :p
Can you get a recording of the sound it's making?

"all the heavy guitarists i know", do you know my friends too?

Sorry, forgot about those. Schecter definitely, PRS is just amazing in general, and Agile has a bunch of different stuff.
And wow, I think I said 2 or 3 times that i know ibanez make nice guitars, i know not every metal guitarist uses one, i know they're not just for metal guitarists, i know they make more than pointy superstrats
im not that fucking narrow minded, i said it GENERALLY attracted a certain player. people who play jazz or funk on an ibanez don't fall into the GENERAL ibanez player category.
it's like me saying GENERALLY someone who wants to play blues in the style of clapton or hendrix will buy stratocasters.. but i know some people pull of blues on like an SG or something else.. or.. omg.. an ibanez.
