Not enough necks and not enough strings per neck :colbert:
I'm totally serious.
brb building an acoustic
[editline]23rd March 2011[/editline]
oh yeah and a goddamn fixture is about as far as you can get from a fucking 'complex machine'
[editline]23rd March 2011[/editline]
dopey is right
there's probably 4 or 5 steps to building an acoustic but the first 3 are
steam the wood till it's flexible
throw said wood on a fixture
glue it together

Stupid question, but what the hell was Merrow's setup when he made that originally? I know he was using an Agile and his monitors/interface, but I can't tell what pups he had in it and it was before he had an AxeFx unit so I have no clue what's responsible for his tone (er whoop just caught the pod X3 tag but the pup question stands.)
It doesn't help that it has "EMG 707" and "Blackouts" tagged in the video, unless he used one of each... Like in the comments he says he used Blackouts on the album, but then says he switched the bridge specifically with a blackout.
May just save for an amp in that case. Pity they're tonnes more expensive, blah.
On the bright side, if you had ever needed to crank that Cube it would have sounded like spunk, so you're getting more than just a different tone for the upgrade.

I didn't know someone was taking the 52 string guitar seriously.

Fuck I'm so pumped. My band is planning a concert with the other metal band here.
Gonna be sweet
my band is playing a "talent tournament", which was a battle of the bands last year, on friday
should be good, but also a challenge, as there is at least 1 other hard rock band and the band I'm in won last year
guys guys guys
I just invented an amazing new way to prolong the life of your strings
play in a different key
I use a key as a guitar pick sometimes....

That bass
I really need to learn something new, I haven't learned anything proper in months. I just always pick up my guitar, play a bunch of stuff I know already, put it away and then remember I was supposed to learn something.
So, could someone please give me some good preferably prog rock (metal, even) songs to learn on guitar or bass? On bass I'd appreciate something with relatively easy fingerpicking. Rush would be good, if such Rush songs even exists.
Also, is there a good guide somewhere that explains basic theory and does it well. I tried one on UG but it raised more questions than it answered.
And I might as well post my shit while I'm at it, Squier J-Bass and a Cube 40XL + a Rumble 30:

And my Epiphone LP:

That is fucking sexy
Any recommendation on easy metal songs for a band to learn?

For Whom the Bell Tolls is pretty traditional :v:

And easy. Bassist needs distortion though
Do the trooper, its pretty simple.
Now this is the most brutal tone you can get out of an Line schwix Speyder dree :colbert:

why do you even have a spider three its a terrible amp, and that sounds awful
it sounds like big booty
It's probably the best I've heard the Spider III distorted, but it's definitely not the kind of metal tone i"m into :v:
