Just broke out my old little cheapo strat copy and forgot how much I love it. It sounds pish by any standard but it's got a lot of character and the neck pickup is lovely.. for being so cheap. I have an Alder body here and I'm tempted to see if the neck and pickguard will fit.. if so I might swap the body out, which I assume is some cheap-ass factory wood for a nice quality Alder body with my own custom paint job on it. Temptiiinggg.
Clarity. Also, for what it's worth, i'm using the Crunch Lab in a basswood guitar.
Oh my. Guess that beats the other EMGs or X series shit for versatility by a mile, probably the Blackouts too, now it's just a question of how much low end I'm comfortable losing. Well, that and figuring out how much of what's in there I do and don't remove going from actives to passives but with how cheap those are I could probably pay somebody to install 'em if it came to that.
how long per day should i put into practicing per day?
how long per day should i put into practicing per day?
how much do you want to? putting together a playlist of songs you can play is always fun. normally i play around 30 min-1 hour per day, but when i was a newbie at guitar i could play for hours and kept learning new things.
how long per day should i put into practicing per day?
What you put in is what you get out, although I prefer the technique of having it near me at all times and if I feel like playing I will.

what exactly do you want to learn? what genre? i mostly did power chords, and with a little help from my older brother i learned stay together for the kids by blink 182. i started practicing chords about 1 year after i started playing guitar, and found it easy enough because i was used to fast switching anyway. i don't know if it's a good technique, but it's how i learned
uh i cant play anything i can barely switch between A maj E maj and D maj chords at faster than a snails pace ( E D A is part of back in black, which is what ive been trying to learn
I've been playing for about a year and I can't do chords. :v: I probably should learn some. Effort.
I'm still considering buying the OD-8, but I've had reports of it being fake compared to the TS9 or TS808.
drop a all day
drop a all day
Or drop B if your other guitarist is a baby and doesn't want to mess with his Floyd Rose...
Stuff you need to swap: :words:
Hmm. I think I'll remain a tremendous cock and try fiddling with deez EMGs a sec longer (forgot to try dicking with the height and one EQ type with more precision) and if I'm convinced I can finagle them into something less oppressively chunky I'll buy a 81-7 for the neck and get on with my life. If not, I'll nab an... X series pair :v: and see what's up and if it's still shit thick, go whole hog and look at the crunchlab and PAF-7 after I return 'em. Unrelated shit: Does anyone actually use the 707TWX or do two just exist in a warehouse somewhere?
Or drop B if your other guitarist is a baby and doesn't want to mess with his Floyd Rose...
It's all about open G, bitches. http://youtube.com/watch?v=tYA7SpqCERE Fun fact: of the ~1,600 songs I have on my hard drive, I've listened to this one more than any other...
forgot to try dicking with the height
Ooookay, so the options there are "stock" or "fuck me with a rake." At least proved definitively that, shock of all shocks, yes, these are unusably bassy and make no sense with an all-model setup. Fuck actives, I give up. Where do I look for replacement pots and that?
I know what you mean with the Actives, fuck'em! :argh:
dimarzio master race
dimarzio master race
Yeah! Gonna order my new Dimarzio's tomorrow.

I do have an Ibanez guitar, though. It's pretty good, but my #1 is an SG Special with P-90s. Run it through a Blues Junior, and string it with D'Addario EXL115 strings (.11-.49). Thinking of switching to hybrids, though. I've gotten rusty on playing, and those 11s tear up my fingers if I bend at all. ^Just... like... that. The stock SG Classic is a bit different, but I modified it to be more correct to the original design.
I'm still considering buying the OD-8, but I've had reports of it being fake compared to the TS9 or TS808.
Fake in what way? It's supposed to be a TS9/808 clone. It does a bloody good job of it too. [editline]30th March 2011[/editline] any guitar any pickups any amp any strings any picks talent master race
Does anyone know anything about an Alvarez 12 string with the model name FW-35? I can find no info anywhere on the internet about it other then two guys who own it and know nothing about it. I've been offered one for around $300 and I'm wondering if I should take it.
Oh shit some Fenders have went down in price. Mexi Strats and Teles are only £380 just now. Now that makes me even more tempted to buy a Tele. (They were £419 not long ago)

Provided you can read and have access to a soldering iron you can change pickups [editline]30th March 2011[/editline] Also, I need a Verellen Skyhammer

That lead channel sounded like cancerous dick. The other two weren't that bad. Besides by and large PODs are pretty good
I'm still considering buying the OD-8, but I've had reports of it being fake compared to the TS9 or TS808.
Maxon makes Ibanez's tubescreamers, while Ibanez puts it's brand on it. It was like that for a few years before 2000 or something when Maxon decided to release it's own brand. Maxon OD-808 = cheaper Ibanez TS-9 but it's the same outcome.
