Well that's up to you then :p I just have no use for it because I play guitar so it's sat here for a couple of months in the bag unused.
How much did you buy it for?
> Gear4Music brand.
GET THE FUCK AWAY!
Why?
[editline]12th March 2011[/editline]
I'm not looking for anything serious, just something to muck around on.
Avoid. Gear4Music + Floyd Rose = tragic load of shit

Why, I'm not going to get a perfect guitar for my budget, what are it's problems? So I can weigh it up against the problems of other guitars.
Low price Floyd Roses are made of weak, soft metal and will quickly wear out. For your budget you can get a passable stop tail guitar which will last you much much longer. Just avoid Floyd's at a low price point, they're a lot more trouble than they're worth

What good vibrato systems can I get at my budget, I'd like one because I wan't to muck around with it.

Don't bother with a vibrato system.
Ibanez GAX30, cheap as piss and still good quality, look into it.

I have looked at it, I'm not looking to play guitar seriously, I'll probably pick it up every now and again to muck around with, Bass is the instrument I'm serious about.

None really, I'd probably say your best bet for a trem system would be a used Squier Standard or something. Just avoid locking nuts at least, because with a fender-style tremelo you can at least lubricate the nut to get some stability and you can easily retune the guitar. A locking nut on a crappy tremolo system is simply a royal pain in the ass, because when it inevitably goes out of tune you have to break out the alan keys just to retune the damn thing.
You cant expect to do divebombs or anything and expect to return fully in-tune though.

Something like that would be my suggestion, try and aim for a Japanese or Mexican Fender/Squier
Original Floyd Roses are the good ones, the poor ones are "Lisenced" Floyd Roses
It's not quite as simple as that. The licensed copies by Gotoh and Schaller are considered as high quality as the Originals, but there are many licensed Floyds which aren't worth the metal they're stamped from (see "Rhythm in Jump, Dancing Close to You" brand trems)
I have a Gotoh trem in my Ibanez RG7 and I can divebomb all day (and probably all week) without going out of tune. It's amazing, and on guitar that only cost me 450USD as well :buddy:
I was thinking about saving up some more money to buy a more expensive guitar. I have heard that ibanez's Edge bridges are good, is that true?
The Edge III is a piece of shit, the Edge Pro and Zero (IIRC) are held in high regard. Look on Gumtree/Craigslist, there's normally some good deals on there

The Edge III isn't that bad aslong as you don't hammer it or abuse it.

The Edge Pro and ZR are good, the Edge III is awful. Lo-Pros are excellent as well.

Make that into a 30 fret bass and we have a deal
Can't decide whether or not to wait for Dev's sig 7 V to come out and throw a Painkiller in it or just get an Agile interceptor for a little bit less and anaesthetise the bitch with a painkiller.
Wait a few months and become the ultimate fanboy, or get a 7 or an 8 right now.

They wear out within a few years, no longevity with them
Sound/recording quality is pretty good, the playing however isn't overly tight.
The rhythm part actually sounds ok kinda messy, it adds a bit of a human touch, but there are parts where I can hear two tracks quite out of sync. You just need to work on your timing, make sure you record with a metronome or a click track if you are recording multiple parts.
The leads are ok, but you need to work on your phrasing. It's something that comes with time and experience, and I'm still working on my phrasing as well during improvisation. Perhaps you would be better off writing your solos beforehand for now.
The atmosphere is nice though, and as I said it sounds pretty good, so keep it up :)
The problem with it being out of time was because, Yes I was playing without a Metronome (Fuck the police) and because I had also just came up with the riff like 5 minutes before, so I didn't give myself any time to actually learn it. As far as the leads not being particularly good? I'm still learning my way around Open C and as you said, will probably get it in time.
Oh, now I'm in band as lead guitarist. Hopefully it works out.

Don't be a knob to the bassist or it will fail.
Don't be a knob to the bassist or it will fail.
some personal experience there?
some personal experience there?
Yup, I have made bands fail before because the lead guitarist was a knob.
I'm rather chill, so I can't really see myself being to rude to anybody unless they are completely screwing everything up.
IMO a band needs to be a democracy formed by people who can share opinions, or a singular vision/hired gun mentality. But all parties need to know what it is.
My last few bands have all been gunhand-bands in disguise, hence why I'm not in them any more
Time to end this lurking, gear incoming!
First, here's my main axe, gonna replace the Kahler with a Graphtech bridge pretty soon. After all, it's 21 years old!
