Learn some Primus
Females will literally attach themselves to your penis, it's proven by science
Built a one string bass out of a length of plywood, my old squier pickups and a poker chip case. Will get audo.

Piezo pickups inside the case :v:
That's fair enough then.
In that case John Mayer is the perfect example of when the bassier pickups can be awesome live or in a mix, when he plays with the John Mayer Trio it's usually all done like that.

Currently have my amp set around 1-2 watts and I'm getting an awesome tone from it. I love this amp for using in the house.. I've got a really nice shimmery glassy blues sound (SRV-like) that's slightly overdriven and then my Tubescreamer clone gives me a boost in volume and gain, then my fuzz pedals are set to how I like them, Wah and Modulation set up right to reduce muddyness in my sound.
My chain currently goes like this:
Big Muff > Wah > Swollen Pickle > Tubescreamer > Marshall Regenerator (modulation)
Soon it will be
Compressor > Big Muff > Wah > Pickle > Tubescreamer > Phaser > Delay > Regenerator > Reverb
With an expression pedal for the Regenerator off-board probably.
I might find a spot for my Double Muff again but I don't use it much currently.
Mine is Digitech bass whammy > M-87 compressor > red ripper
though when I'm just playing at home by myself I play through a Digitech BP200
it's all pretty boss
[editline]11th April 2011[/editline]
actually the M-87 is a boss pedal so I suppose that's more boss than the rest

if you can handle it, learn some Primus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rush, maybe some Mr. Big
you'll have to fight the women off
Solution: Get a 7 string.
Or just get thicker strings?
In a band or on your own?
If in a band chances are you have your amp louder than everyone else or it just sounds plain bad in the mix.
Unless your amp settings favor mids and treble over bass, as in lots more to buff out the warmth and bass of neck pickups.
In a band.
I like the beefier tone of the neck pickup, it pairs well with any kind of overdrive, plus it doesn't make that twangy 50's sound the bridge pickup makes.
But it's only for one song anyway. :v:

That or a baritone scale guitar. Simply having a 7 string guitar wont help unless it's extended scale.

Then again most sevens have an extended scale afaik
Been learning some racer x lately, I love the harmonies.
Who's been talking about drop Z here? I hit drop Z with my 80 gauge strings deeper tuned than a damn 5 string bass.
:colbert:
I think I remaster my doomy little sample I made in that tuning then post it here, it sounded weak and horrible compared to my new pr0 m4ster skillz. :downs:
Then again most sevens have an extended scale afaik
Most 7s I've come across are 25.5" scale, just like your typical 6 string Fender scale guitar. My RG7620 is 25.5" in scale, and it really isn't long enough for the low B in my opinion. If I ever buy another 7 string it will either be 27" or fanned from 25.5"-27"
I love playing on heavy strings but god damn it why does my favorite brand of strings have to have a wound G?
Looks like I'm going back to Ernie Balls unless I can find a decent coated set that dont have a wound G
