I like having a wound G. I know a lot of people don't like them but they just have a better sound imo.

So downtuned, the strings touch the ground

The deepest I went (tone was still recognisable because OKAY tension) with my 80 string on my 27.7 scale prs guitar was 19 half steps below normal E! Which is 2 half steps deeper than a normal tuned 5 string bass.
I loved every moment of it.

The definitely sound fatter and actually compliment the tone I'm after but I'm not used to them being there :p

My J bass is from 2009 and I haven't replaced the strings once, any recommendations?
My recommendation is that you replace the strings.

Rotosound 66 .045-.105
Trying to learn a Nick Drake song is hard when you've scalded your fingers with coffee that morning :smith:
Some higher power does not want me to practice

Welcome to my domain swebonny
Awww yeaah I can now use all my five fingers of my picking hand on one string, now all I have to do is build up the speed and coördination for all fingers.
Godddamnit. First I have to pawn shit to afford bareknuckles, and now I find out that for some stupid reason I still can't do bends well, except on bass. Those are just fine and dandy no fucking problem.
I must be a mutant. :ohdear:
Welcome to my domain swebonny
I bow to thee, master Nonikai.
In other news, I broke the high E string on my guitar after it refused to bend. I got mad and pushed with all four fingers, it snapped and somehow managed to sting my right pinky.
I have found the pedal I need in my life.

Crap, we're getting mods as regulars, someone may find out about our secret plans.

Secret plans tend to attract nosy mods

Thanks :v:
In other news, I took my Orange Strat to a custom shop.
I didn't want to screw up drilling out holes for my new tuners on a 150 dollar neck, 22 dollars is worth the safety.
He also said I set up my string height for slide gutiar
Could go for Ernie Ball Super Slinkies, .045 - .100
tuned my destroyer to b standard the other night and I just now realized that I'm playing a 7 string minus the top e
anyone got any good metal tones for pod farm, everything just seems too loud and trebley no matter what I do
"metal"
"too loud"
"metal"
"too loud"
for recording purposes anyway, just sounds way too noise filled with no clarity to any of the notes, just literal loudness
i think i'm going to buy a bass big muff for my electric guitar :p
