I love playing on heavy strings but god damn it why does my favorite brand of strings have to have a wound G? Looks like I'm going back to Ernie Balls unless I can find a decent coated set that dont have a wound G
buy them separately.
I could but I can't be bothered.. the Ernie Balls aren't bad they just arent coated so don't last as long.
i think i'm going to buy a bass big muff for my electric guitar :p
I know a lot of people do that but bass effects always sound muddy on guitar
I know a lot of people do that but bass effects always sound muddy on guitar
Might be a good thing if that's what you want to be fair. Deron from CKY uses bass effects and his tone fits perfectly for the band
It's a big muff.. when is it not going to sound muddy? And you shouldn't think a bass effect is going to sound low just because a low pitch instrument uses it. The Bass Big Muff was made because bass players used the old russian green big muffs because they have a much "oomph-ier" sound and worked more with bass but when used on guitar they were completely different to NYC big muffs, the BBM's are based on the sovtek sound but were marketed for bassists.. but for all intents and purposes it sounds just the same as a Sovtek BM and a regular guitar. An original sovtek big muff (no longer in production) will cost me at least £300.. a bass big muff? £60.
I know all that stuff it just never sounds right when I do it
Due to my Dad's job we've got a couple of Schecter demo guitars at the house for a few days. Ultra III PT Fastback I'm not a big fan of Fender's designs, so the PT is nothing really special for me. The Ultra III, however, is completely and totally awesome. 3 humbuckers with coil tap and a Bigsby tailpiece. You can get all kinds of really neat tones out of this thing, and it plays great. My only difficulty is the fact that the Bigsby never returns exactly to the position you tuned it in, so the strings will remain flat unless you pull back on it a bit. I'm still thrilled at the chance to play with it for a few days.
I absolutely love the Schecter III, I tried it out in the store just a few minutes ago actually in the same color when I went to pick up my epiphone. It's great sound for an <1k price. Rather than spend 600ish dollars though I'm just gonna put a bigsby on my epiphone and get some nice pickups in it :v:
I know all that stuff it just never sounds right when I do it
Doesn't work with everything, it just so happens that the Bass Big Muff isn't really a Bass pedal per se, it's just marketted to them because a lot of bass players went for the russian green muffs instead of a standard big muff. Hence why the Bass BM is also green too.
there's no super secret technique to being faster at switching between chords other than practicing getting them completely right at your fastest comfortable pace? or is there a better way ( not complaining about it being slow, just wondering.) i havent had proper instruction from a guitar instructor so you know.....
I want to build another partscaster again :gonk: This time with Knockoff EMGs White with gold hardware, white with black hardware, or black with gold hardware...
I want to build another partscaster again :gonk: This time with Knockoff EMGs White with gold hardware, white with black hardware, or black with gold hardware...
black and gold are a particularly appealing contrast and are very appealing, to me, to see on an instrument
black and gold are a particularly appealing contrast and are very appealing, to me, to see on an instrument
Good, because my next partscaster I am planning to sell...
I like white with black hardware best
Everyone knows that neon green with blue hardware is the best

I need to start using cheaper strings. the black coating on my $65 Black Beauties is wearing off
Doing work on the song for the FP Concept Album. Improvised guitar solo at the end.
Siminov I'm putting gold on my partscaster.. it's gonna have a red finish :)
gold and red? that shits nasty
My film class is doing music videos, and my crew is doing Time Is Running Out by Muse. even though they want it to be a narrative video, I still want a bit of performance in it, What I thought was I would be somewhere within the scene, playing the guitar part. The problem is, that we were wanting to speed some scenes up. They won't listen to me to have me off to the side and doing a garbage matte on me so I'm in normal time, while they're in fast motion. I barely got to voice my opinions on friday when we started because I had lost my voice. :smith: For those who don't know, there are three types of music video: Narrative- One that tells a story. ex: A man falling in love with a woman, and eventually loses her Conceptual- One that focuses on a concept. ex: Nature Performance- A band preforming the song. A typical music video is usually 2 of the 3. It doesn't have to be, but that's usually the case.
gold and red? that shits nasty
Really? Looks awesome to me.
Really? That's just my opinion. If you like it, that's what matters. I also don't care for Fender guitars, so that might be part of it too. I love their picks though.
What.. You think what I posted looks worse than something thats red.. which a black pickguard and gold knobs? Sounds like you have a bad taste or don't appreciate complimentary colours. (not trying to sound like a dick btw)

(not trying to sound like a dick btw)
Well , my guitar is a darker red, so that might be why It looks good on mine. And I'm not talking the same sort of gold as the output on yours. Now that I think about it, yeah, black and gold on yours wouldn't look good, it's too bright of a red. What color are those frets?
probably silver.. if not gold and skewed by the picture, it's not my pic.. i just googled red strat gold hardware lol
FFS where is my tuner? [editline]11th April 2011[/editline]
probably silver.. if not gold and skewed by the picture, it's not my pic.. i just googled red strat gold hardware lol
I see :v: [editline]11th April 2011[/editline] I need to get new pick guard screws. [editline]11th April 2011[/editline] Fun Fact: My uncle's last name is Gibson. He plays a Fender. When I asked him why he doesn't play a Gibson, He said. "For the Irony" :v:

my guitar cable only works in one direction. I know there's an explanation, I just forgot it. Also, I'm impressing my non musician friends by telling them i can play the Pentatonic Scale in the key of A. For all they know I could be making shit up.
directional cables. people believe that if the signal only travels in one direction it produces a higher quality/more consistent signal. probably doesnt make much of a difference outside of a studio setting. i know people who use directional patchleads for their pedal chains so they're consistent.
