Been making a new track for a little while. Now I have the intro(?), verse and something that comes afterwards. Still a rough WIP, I haven't decided on how to work out the transitions from one part to another and haven't added synths.
Oi LasGunz, I didn't know you were on UG/in Scotland. I went back on UG for the first time in ages tonight. It's pretty shit. Music is so much better :3:
GB&C is the only good section on UG
UG is terrible
Got a line on selling my eXtreme. Dunno if I should buy a DIY Strat kit or P-bass kit. I have 3 basses as it is, so I'm leaning towards the Strat kit.
I thought Extreme where a crappy local make, So they're a crappy national/international make then?
I only read the pedal thread on there.. I post and read elsewhere when I'm killing time on UG but I mostly stick around the Pedalboad thread in the Gear forum.
Got my black body today and put everything on it in an hour. Fits really nice, except for the spring claw, which is too narrow, the input jack area, which needs a little sanding, and the screwholes for the strap buttons need to be lengthened, other than that I can't wait to finish it orange. The black on black looks too generic to me.
Black on black looks good though, at least on a P-bass That's Justin Street from Airbourne in case no one knew
I like black on white best. my dream bass has a white body, ebony fretboard, all black hardware, maybe wenge neck, FUCKING KAHLER BASS TREMOLO
I like black on white best. my dream bass has a white body, ebony fretboard, all black hardware, maybe wenge neck, FUCKING KAHLER BASS TREMOLO
Don't Bass tremolos severely affect the life of the strings.
Don't Bass tremolos severely affect the life of the strings.
They do, but I swap strings every two weeks anyway, where most bass players get them every 2 or more months
They do, but I swap strings every two weeks anyway, where most bass players get them every 2 or more months
Bass strings are expensive as hell though, I wouldn't want to swap them too often, I can just about afford to do it every 6 months. Are you gigging?
Im trying to get into sweep picking, however im having trouble muting the strings. Right after I playing a note, am I supposed to lift my finger totaly of the string? If I do that, the string still sounds when I take my finger off.
no I just play for 7 hours a day and don't like dead strings
If only I could afford to do that, I love the fresh on sound.
If only I could afford to do that, I love the fresh on sound.
No wonder you got Harris as your avatar
I like black on white best. my dream bass has a white body, ebony fretboard, all black hardware, maybe wenge neck, FUCKING KAHLER BASS TREMOLO
got to admit, it looks good to me
No wonder you got Harris as your avatar
My ideal sound with my current band is nothing like Harris'. I just need an amp.
harris is a god amongst men. my favorite member is dave murray, he's such an inspiration.
I used two amps in stereo today it was fucking awesome and makes me wish I had 2 amps to do it all the time. Basically what I done was set one amp to a nice glassy clean blues tone and another to a similar tone but with overdrive so what I got was this really rich harmonic and trasparent overdrive with so much clarity. I wanna do it more.

black on black is always ruined by either a maple neck or a natural headstock
Lol I still have him on ignore so i cant see that post but i absolutely guarantee absinthe said something about the maple neck on the all black guitar
it's almost like he reads my posts even if he does have me on his ignore list isn't it
So I made this mixtest today. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5847609/Roll%20N%20Roll%20Americuh%20Mixtest.mp3
I'd say the guitar doing the riff at the beginning is too muddy.. i'd cut some bass out . I get that this music is supposed to sound like all demonic but you still want riffs like that to cut out in the mix. [editline]21st April 2011[/editline] If you listen it starts to get lost as soon as the drums come in. I'd boost the level a little and cut the bass, let it kick the shit out of them drums.
It's not the same git tone. The beginning riff has more reverb, delay, and different EQ'ing than the rhythm tracks that comes in with the drums.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say.. that it's intentionally muddy and gets lost in the mix? Why even have it there then, it's a waste of sonic space! ;p
lah lah lah I can't hear you

lah lah lah yes you can
:frog:
[img_thumb]http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/1662/0420111636.jpg[/img_thumb] Sorry about the clothes...
