Yeah.. I mean, I would rather an actual amp. But, I cannot seem to find something that sounds how I want it too (Thats in my price range :P).. I've spoiled myself by playing with the Mesa's and the such at GuitarCenter that now my "little" Crate isnt cutting it. I may go look at the 6505 1x12 though, I've played it and I like how it sounds.
What's your price range?
Also, if you do like the Mesa sound, I'd go for Amplitube over GR4- it has dual and triple rec models, whereas GR4 has just one dual model stock and an addon for the early-run dual RZK uses. But that's if you are going the modeling route.
Ill be looking at around $300-$500.
- New, Used, I dont really mind.
Making one of the slimmer cigar boxes I couldn't use for a guitar into a pedal board for my fledgling collection
All 3 pedals :v:
I think this is my next pedal.. after I sell my Tubescreamer clone
[img_thumb]http://www.rocknroll-pedals.com/prodimages/Way-Huge-Pork-Lion.jpg[/img_thumb]
I've been looking for a pedal that has a clean mix so I can get a nice shimmery clean sound mixed with my overdrive. Way Huge solved my problems once again.
I told my friend about that Tubescreamer clone, he was saying that if it did sound exactly like one then he'd get it.

You should look into Bugera. Their amps are pretty good for what they charge and sound pretty close to Peavey's 6505/5150 models.
I was messing with that delay thing that pretty much always ends up sounding awesome, and I got an idea.
A pretty awesome idea.

(It's not very good playing, but that's because, one, I broke my collarbone a while back and I haven't played in a pretty long time, and two, it's hard playing this on a bass)
I normally play bass, but probably like most people, I'd like to have a guitar to mess around on too so, is this a decent beginner guitar?

I always liked the look of the stratocasters, and the price is right, any comments?

You must have a template for posts about Bugera amps by now :v:

Actually you're probably thinking of Kab2Tract but I mention them because they're LIKE the Peavey series for much less money.

Why do i keep confusing you for Kab2tract and vice versa :saddowns:

It will never sound exactly like one without using Maxons spec (which Ibanez use for their practically cabon copy version) but it will get close.. mine is cool though.. it has a 3 way switch on top which you can set to Tubescreamer mode, a bright overdrive or a warm overdrive. It also has 3 interchangable OP-Amp chips you can swap in and out for a different sound overall.
My guitar has been collecting dust way more than usual lately and rags/cloths with damp water aren't doing as well of a job of keeping it nice looking.
Any suggestions for guitar maintenance things I should get to keep it in good shape? I've heard that there are all sorts of things from string cleaners to neck polishers to different kinds of sprays to use for different types of body woods. For reference, I have a 3-piece mahogany guitar with an ebony fretboard, using 52-10 D'addario strings (light top/heavy bottom).
Also, the plastic-tape stuff on the back of the body covering access to the pickups and the battery (active EMG 81/85's) isn't looking too good lately; they have air-bubbles inside them and it looks pretty bad. Anything to fix that up or just deal with it?
Thanks in advance for the help!
Ill look into the Bugeras then.. I've seen them, I just have never played them. Thanks!

If you want, I can tell him to get in contact with you and you can tell him about it. We all live in Scotland (I assume you do anyway) as well which is handy probably
Hurmmm.
I was just about to order a pair of SD triple shots, but now I'm wondering something. Six wiring options could be achieved entirely through a six-way rotary switch, right? I'll probably still order these later tonight just for the convenience of not having to run a bazillion wires outside of the pickup cavity, but it would be cheaper to go with a switch. Plus use up free space considering I'm rolling with no tone pot.
Then again I could just stick a second volume pot on there with the rings...but then I've got no purpose for the current 3-way pup selector, unless I was going to do something weird like toss in a killswitch.

Cool, let me know. (yeah i live in scotland)
In other news I just roughed up my guitar.. it was a tiny bit sad to see my paint job get so beat up only 24 hours after finishing it but it was the whole point anyway. I've just put some wood dye on the bare wood that's showing through and it's drying in. Hoping to get it kind of dark yellow-orange and saturated.
Migth end up with a Gretsch Electromatic Junior Jet 2 soon. We will see how things turn out.

Bad guitar, you're even better of with the affinity series.
The body of my relic job is basically done now. Had a blast beating the guitar up :p

Sounds great. Reminds me of a piece of music I heard a while ago.
That is one ugly ass relic
It's not supposed to look ~amazing~
[editline]23rd April 2011[/editline]
Making a carefully designed relic looks too fake and intentional. I roughed this up in ways that would happen naturally to a guitar through use and accidental dropping etc.
The only reasons guitars these days dont "relic" as easily is because of the thick ass poly coat on them, I've finished mine with Nitrocellulose which is what they used to use up until a decade or so ago.
But there's some damage which seems unlogical because that kind of damage can't be applied there.
Example, the dents near the bridge. You'd have to be stabbing it with a screwdriver to get that kind of damage there.
Meh.. things could have easily fallen onto it or something. I can't explain most relics I look at, this is loosely based on a lot of different ones I've seen.

Love the look of this relic.
hopefully my next pedal, you guys think it's worth it though?

Johns is just through playing though, he's had the guitar for ever and it just naturally wore out but guitars these days and from the past 15 or so years have thick-ass poly finishes that just don't wear out. They dent, crack and scratch but they're ugly as fuck.
My guitar is painted lightly and then finished with Nitrocellulose which is what they used to use on guitars like Johns worn ones. Production relics are generally just sanded down at certain parts and then lacquered over which is silly.. the lacquer should be part of the relic process and bare would should or would show.

Great pedal but it's noisy as fuck.. I mean most fuzz pedals are noisy but this one takes the cake, if you're familiar with how noisy a Big Muff can be expect the same or more.

I see, well then i understand what you mean. and i bet if you play it thoroughly it will be softer were you made the "age" marks i guess.
I just realised something that I never spotted before.
Monterey '67 where Hendrix famously flipped out and set alight his strat..
It was on a sunday which by most is considered the 7th day of the week.. in june, the 6th month.. and it was on the 16th, 17th, 18th and in 1967..
So if you take all the digits you get
7 , 6 - 16 , 17 , 18 , 19 - 67
lolwut
Tried out the EHX ring thing today. Man that thing is cool, I need to practice on my actual playing rather than buying a shit ton of new pedals but its so awesome.
