God damn it lasgunz, now I feel like I need to build a parts caster and pedal board. Gonna end up blowing all my cash on more gear but there's nothing wrong with that. Oh yeah and you mentioned a couple pages back you were able to replicate the SRV glassy tone, how'd you do it again?
I have a tube/modeller combo amp so I get really nice saturated rich tones while still being modelled and output digitally. I set my amp to the blues amp modeller which I'm fairly certain is based on some sort of Fender amp then I dime the treble, roll back the mids to about 9 o clock and put lows to wherever sounds good. Just now it's around 12 o clock. Other than that.. play on a start in the neck-middle position and do a lot of rakes.

It's good for the price but I really need to upgrade. Only being able to adjust gain, treble and bass is really pissing me off.
i like amps with only treble and bass control.. the guitar's natural signal is kind of your midrange.. old fender amps only used to have treble and bass.
I'm looking at this overdrive pedal. Mostly whatever I play is just improvised blues. The pedal doesn't have a mid-boost function like tube screamers and doesn't have much of a "middy" sound as it's been reviewed on Musician's Friend. Good for blues or look elsewhere?
Blues isn't really about midrange.. you get blues tones that are heavily based on midrage but for example SRV was all treble and bass. Tubescreamers don't have a mid-boost at least the Maxon/Ibanez ones don't and they're the originals. I'd look into the Way Huge Pork Loin if you want a massively diverse overdrive, don't buy one pedal that is limited to one sound, Way Huge are great for giving you a wide variety of tones from one pedal.. generally there are at least 4 settings on the pedals face and if you crack it open there are 1-4 settings inside where you can fine tune your tone. Another great overdrive is the Voodoo Sparkle Drive, like the Pork Loin it lets you roll in your clean dry signal for some nice glassy/chimey tones. Pedals don't make your tone bluesy.. your amp does, pedals merely accent it or in overdrives case pushes your amp (works better with tubes) into overdrive without having to crank the volume like they did back in the day.

I was wondering if anyone had personal experience, though I doubt it reviews say it's really underrated. And speaking of tubes, I'm very interesting into getting a tube amp but doubt I can afford one. I have some experience looking at solid state and modelling amps since that's all I've ever owned. Know nothing of tubes though except Fender tubes have awesome shimmery clean tones. Can anyone recommend something affordable (preferably under $600-$700).
Wow im selling my xbox to get some dosh for a new guitar i want.. So far i got one half serious buyer and 2 scam emails... Im giving up soon.
Fender Blues Junior is a feckin fantastic tube amp for getting into the world of tubes as well as small to medium gigs, medium to large gigs could be mic'd up like most amps. Get a nice transparent overdrive (the 2 i suggested are amazingly transparent) that means it won't mess with your amp tone much and will just purely drive your signal. If you want to spend even less on a good tube amp to see if you like it look into the Bugera V22 or V55 I bet they're 100-200$ cheaper then the Blues Junior. Not as good but they're mighty fine amps, I wouldn't mind having it as my main amp until I was ready to fork over a grand for a Deluxe Reverb or something.

With my guitar set up the way it is, all I need is that pedal and a better amp for a respectable blues setup. The Blues Junior will be affordable once I start working again.
Don't forget the Bugera Vintage series. It's my next amp.
Give me an GP 5.0 or 4.0 file from that (not higher please) and I make something like this out of that sound wise for fun :v: (will sound good I promise) [editline]21st April 2011[/editline] It's originally an metal song I've written a year ago for my band! I turned it into this version and it just sounds kickass  [editline]21st April 2011[/editline] I also take requests to turn your gp5 files into stuff like that thing I posted up there. If you do an request then please send me an GP5.0 or lower file  [editline]21st April 2011[/editline] Also another metal song example which I turned into a dark sounding piece with drums, bass, piano Gimme requests :v:
You should really build off of this style more. Without the chugging guitar and double bass kick, these recordings turn out to be a pretty well thought out industrial tracks. Industrial > Metal (just my opinion, I understand others enjoy metal, but it's not my cup of tea.) I've always loved nine inch nails' older shit, downward spiral, fragile left etc. Slower paced tracks like these leave a lot of room for the guitar to do something interesting rather than the same old same old chug chug bullshit sweep etc. etc.
Hello all, you guys might remember me from when I defretted my acoustic, well today i finally (re)wired a single coil to a volume pot to a 1/4 jack, your basic single coil electric. I somehow got the bright idea to mount this shit in my (fretted) acoustic. Granted that this was my first time, I did fuck up on some judgement on where to put my volume control, so I had to make another hole close to that one and just wood putty'd the wrong hole (There was a piece of wood blocking my volume control). The whole thing wasn't that hard or long to do, and I like the end result. Pics (blurry, sorry) [editline]25th April 2011[/editline] Holy shit, my camera is THAT fucking bad
Sound clips or it didn't happen. Also, talking about pedal boards: Dat signal loss. And continuing on the subject of Paul Gilbert:
i can't take this anymore. this fender amp is soooo bad and i just want to jump on it every time i start it. longing for my 6505
Also, talking about pedal boards: Dat signal loss.
If he has a pedal board of that size he is not loosing signal.. he'll have a few buffer pedals throughout his chain, he wouldn't spend thousands of dollars on pedals and not compensate for tone suck.
how does he power them all? a voodoo labs pedal power 2 can only accomadate 8 pedals (and i have used all the inputs)
how does he power them all? a voodoo labs pedal power 2 can only accomadate 8 pedals (and i have used all the inputs)
You can use more than one you know.
imagine them all using their respective adapter. [editline]25th April 2011[/editline] but i can imagine it actually being one of those big 4 pin plugs, split up to a few power station things.
how does he power them all? a voodoo labs pedal power 2 can only accomadate 8 pedals (and i have used all the inputs)
As long as the draw is less than 500mA you can daisy chain a few pedals into one input
how does he power them all? a voodoo labs pedal power 2 can only accomadate 8 pedals (and i have used all the inputs)
look up "daisy chain effects pedals"
Anyone want to buy my 7 string? I'm trying to downsize a bit while upgrading. I'd take £170 or a good analog delay pedal :v: Front and centre in this pic, the red one
Urgh, I keep breaking strings on my guitar. I was thinking at it might just be me putting them on wrong, but they always seem to break at the bridge after about a month or so, even the thick wound ones. Any one know why this is and how I can prevent it?

What kind of bridge do you have?
I just redid my covers, I will upload them asap.

Your stopbar must be as low as possible on the screws to do this. EDIT : just like on LasGunz picture right under
