Been jamming with my mates last couple of days, made more progress with me than their last bassist in 6 months. Feels good.
Has anyone used the Line 6 Pod HD series before, and are they any good? http://uk.line6.com/podhd/ I'm thinking of buying one as well as two cabinets to go left and right of me. I'm mainly playing on my own but I will be jamming later this year too. Would this setup be fine for that?

Meh they're not that expensive these days, you could get away with it if you're going to be serious about gigging. Perhaps find a music shop that sells them and ask to try it? [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] Oh but I'd look into the M9 or M13 series from Line6 first, they're newer and way cooler.
Anyone have any recommendations for some affordable analog delay and reverb pedals? I've recently realised my sound is very dull without proper reverb on it, and I just want to get a pedal board started. EDIT: I've been looking at the Catalinbread Montavillian Echo. Seems very ambient and dreamy sounding which is the sort of thing I'm looking for. Anyone had any experience?
Catalinbread make awesome pedals but I can't speak for the Echo pedal, never used it. What's your budget is the more important question, for one pedal or both.
I hate my bandbuddies. We say "ok everybody practice this cover til next time": Drummer doesn't check it up, claims he knows the song anyway - totally doesn't. Bass player can't play it because he "found no tabs". You're a bass player... jesus. Everytime we meet I always have to spend atleast an hour or two teaching them/correcting what they're doing just because they're too lazy to do it at home or whatever. I don't even understand why they show up and wanna play when they obviously don't know the songs. What do they expect is gonna happen?? It's a waste of time I tell ya.

I just stuck to whatever key the guitar players were in and followed the drum beat [editline]4th May 2011[/editline]
Anyone have any recommendations for some affordable analog delay and reverb pedals?
Catalinbread make awesome pedals but I can't speak for the Echo pedal, never used it. What's your budget is the more important question, for one pedal or both.
Well I can afford probably up to around $150-$200 each, although I'd like to spend less if I could. I also want to get a noise suppressor soon. I'm really liking the dark subtleness about it. I've also been looking at a Biyang RV-10 Tri-reverb pedal which seems pretty good.
Wanna join a band?
don't know about that, I'd rather not hop a plane to sweden every time you've got a gig
NPD! its a bit beat up but it was a bargain for £60 (i think it looks better beaten up)

As for the Biyang, I own a Biyang Tubescreamer clone and I've used a few others. They make cool copys, to a much better degree than say Behringer do but they are cheap pedals and thus won't sound amazing. Electro Harmonix Holy Grail (the big one or the Holy Grail Plus, not the Nano version) is a fantastic Reverb.. as is the Memory Boy, Memory Boy Deluxe or Memory Man Deluxe (they get more expensive in that order) delay which has modulation delays and things to give it a more vintage sound. If you want to go expensive but get the best possible pedal you could get and never ever regret it.. Strymon Blue Sky for reverb and Strymon El Capistan for Echo/Delay. They are my dream pedals for 'verb and delay.
[img_thumb]http://i52.tinypic.com/euhcox.png[/img_thumb]
Nice job, now give it to me :)
oh god, its so good. its like sex in my ears.
Las, I love the shape of your axis, how well does it play?
Las, I love the shape of your axis, how well does it play?
It's an awesome guitar.. I just don't ever play it because I'm a devote Strat/Tele enthusiast and I also don't like Floyd Rose bridges tbh :p Plays and sounds great, its as comfortable as my strats, it has a Strat scale neck so it doesnt feel cramped like a Les Paul or something similar. [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] If it doesnt sell on ebay I'm reluctant to relist it and just keep it for the sake of keeping it, I fell in love with it the moment I laid eyes on it. The colour and wood, the shape.. everything about it is awesome in my eyes.. its just not the kind of guitar I want to play.

And how close is the neck to the Ibenez ones? I'm indifferent to my cheap bass' neck, which is quite thick, and I love my Ibenez bass' neck.
It's a licensed Floyd as far as I know and from the Ibanez guitars I've played the neck is pretty close, it's a thinner neck but not unbareably thin.. just as necks go it's not as thick as a Les Pauls neck if you're familiar with their typical size.
I would love to buy that guitar but I'm saving up for a bass amp, and I need that more as I'm ampless at the moment. I would buy it if I could, but I won't have the funds till christmas time.

the high strings on my strat copy sound like fucking bagpipes
the high strings on my strat copy sound like fucking bagpipes
Nut is cut too low or it's binding. To le guitar tech for a new nut, m'boy.
Bass player can't play it because he "found no tabs". You're a bass player... jesus.
So what if he couldn't find any tabs. Just because he's a bassplayer he can't use that excuse. There's more to bassplaying than just roots at 16th
the high strings on my strat copy sound like fucking bagpipes
What's not to like?
There's more to bassplaying than just roots at 16th
Yes, playing roots at 32th
