Guitar Discussion Thread V7 - More strings the better
There's no real name for it, it's just a way of muting the strings.
But I'm playing notes while there muted.
That just sounds like a natural harmonic. Can you record it or show us a video?
Tap harmonic
Does a note clearly ring out while you have your finger directly over a fret or are you just holding your hand over the strings?
If you're hearing notes ring out it's harmonics, if it's just a clicky muffled sound then it's just muting.
Ok, thanks.
Should (almighty Odin willing) be trading the LTD I picked up for a Yamaha SA503 Troy Van Leeuwen signature in about two weeks :3:
Awesome part is it's just five days after I go and see Queens of the Stone Age :frogc00l:

in black (no good pictures on Google)
Just watched a video of Roger Waters, Gilmour and Nick Mason and their Pink Floyd reuninion and playing Comfortably Numb from the other night. Beautiful stuff.
Dropped my wilshire off for repairs. It's weird how it's not even my nice guitar yet I use it more than my gretsch.

I'm like that with my Tele. It's a pretty unheard of brand but the quality of the wood and pickups is unreal, I play it constantly where as I don't use my beautifully made G&L Strocaster as often.
Anybody want to design me a body silhouette? Thinking about making a new body for my Kahler-Strat since I could probably get a better tone out of a foam rubber than out of basswood and juniper.
People always complain when I make a "standard" body design so if you want you could design me a body thats not totally gaudy or uber-radicool and I'd probably make it. Hoping for something curvy and modern but I lack inspiration when it comes to silhouette shape.
Im shit poor right now (but I *literally* have tonnes of lumber) so it'd be a direct hardware transplant. Will oust the strat's pickguard but will use it's pots and pickups and rear-mount them into the body.
You should definitely make one of these:

Make either a Tele, Jazzmaster or Firebird. I love those guitars.

make a mash up, like Zakk Wylde's ZV or the ML. take 2 you like and try to mix them. try a strat/V shape

Then screw them, you build awesome strats.
What's the point in building guitars if you're not gonna try different shapes?
Looks like a bolt-on to me? :raise:
Er...I posted a pic of the wrong one. The custom shop option (Intrepid "Pro" http://www.rondomusic.com/intrepidprodual830mnblood.html) is a neck through, sorry. I posted a pic of the only one with a fretboard I liked by mistake.
All their color options are -burst stuff, and what I want is more like a solid black with some blue highlights.

If I have time in my unending sea of end-of-semester projects I'll toss it on ACAD and see what I can do.
What is everybody's opinion on the Zoom G1XN Guitar Multi Effects Pedal?
