In moderation alcohol is not going to kill or harm you any more than using the prescribed dosage of a prescription medication. If you only drink sometimes to have fun, then the person who declines because it's "GONNA RUIN YER LIFE" is the actual ignorant party.
Nobody said it's going to ruin your life. Most of the people who agree with OP simply said that there are more pleasant, cheaper, highs. Plus, weed doesn't give a hangover.

Why are you automatically assuming they are incapable of visiting us? There's no way for us to know if any aliens exist out there, let alone are capable of visiting us.
It's very probably that other life exists in the universe, so we can assume that. But assuming that they can or can't visit us isn't very clever. We can't know. You claiming that they're snails, or eating space dirt is just as silly an assumption as other people assuming they're capable of visiting us.

Also, when you use it sometimes to have fun is when it can do more damage to you. It's called binge drinking (assuming you meant drinking a fair amount).
It's a lot safer to have a little drink every few days than to drink large amounts every few weeks/months.

Eh dude, I don't really alcohol, cold beer in summer can one of the most rewarding things in the long run. Or big phat joint. Or big phat line. It's just matter of time and preference.
I don't really hate alcohol. I hate many of alcohol influenced people though. Long story behind this, but my hate for those people grew over years. Alcoholics, accidents on alcohol - I got broken nose from it (still visible today), many fights I don't even remember, and shit goes on. Get me? It's too stupid to mess with it, others can do it all they want, but me, no. It's just at the point I don't want to touch it anymore.
