go army, it's the biggest branch so they're more lenient. they're much better funded and have the latest equipment.
marines is a smaller branch and uses shitty old equipment. they lack funding. you'll get promoted faster in the army as well, which means better pay.
what MOS do you want
The Marines will push you harder than the Army.
Not to say that the Army is easy, just a little less difficult.
army
the marines won't waste their time with slackers like you.
None are necessarily easy, but the Army is the easiest.

:wtc:
Why the fuck are people saying that the Marines or Army are easier, and that the Army will take up slackers...?
Do people have any idea? Or are they just talking shit again.
Why does everyone think the marines are their own branch? They're part of the fucking navy for Christ sake.
you're not the brightest one are you
Neither of them take the slackers. Well scratch that. They do take them. And then they shape them in basic. Or they discharge the dumbasses that think war is Call of Duty and that it is all glory. Anyone that clears basic will have been shaped into a fighter.
Also
The Marines are the ground force of the Navy. And they do serve a 13 month tour of duty as opposed to the Army who only serves 12. Do with that what you will.

the army has proven to be easier physically, mentally, and just in general. they'll take you if you have a heavy criminal background and aren't strict on drug use at all, they're bct is only 9 weeks as well.
the real answer is the National Guard
if you are considering joining the military you shouldn't use "who is more lazy" as a barometer because that's dumb!

Standards are lower for physical challenges as well.
Both of them.
Marines will bang on about how they're superior to the Army and how their training produces combat soldiers of a much higher standard etc etc, but it's hyperbole and largely bullshit.
Comparing infantry alone, the only real difference between the Marines and Army is that the Marines do more in infantry training, whereas the Army has a shorter infantry training course, but does more when the soldier gets to his unit. The only other differences are equipment and slight organizational/doctrinal differences.
If you're not going infantry, then ignore this. In such a case, go Army. Marines has less funding and older equipment.
Marines are the best :patriot:
Which branch of the military is more likely to accept slackers, the Army or Marines?
I'm not sure if I'm really a slacker. I could be described as Fry from Futurama, but I did pretty well in my high school career (except for geometry). Algebra was a breeze, but all those formulas and equations you had to memorize for geometry were my undoing. Plus it's hard to focus on geometry when all I can think of is this one girl in my next period class who I'm scared shitless of (and I'm in love with her!).
Hahaha. How are you still taking Algebra and even Geometry in high school?
You should join the Army, become a good dumb footsoldier like the rest of them.
Marines are the best :patriot:
not really
and anyone saying the marines are the only ones on the front line is retarded

no one thinks that.
no one thinks that.
uh, yeah actually a lot of people do if you've ever read the countless discussions on "army vs marines."
uh, yeah actually a lot of people do if you've ever read the countless discussions on "army vs marines."
Yeah it's hilarious that people still actually believe that "first to fight" bullshit.
the marines are better overall
The Marines will push you harder than the Army.

No, the Army is easy.
My MOS School was at Fort Sill which is one of the bases where the Army does basic training and honestly, it's a joke. A slacker would probably do fine there considering at least a third of those fuckers is overweight.
When we go for a run we have the fast group and the faster group, the Army, no shit, has the run/jog group and the walking group. They make me fucking sick. You should fit in fine.

i'm not
the marines are better overall
lol
no they aren't
and there's a lot more to the army/marines than just infantry
half of the army is civilian personnel anyways
lol

as far as training and combat kill to death ratios yes they are.
Why does everyone think the marines are their own branch? They're part of the fucking navy for Christ sake.
Not in the American Military. They eventually answer to the Department of the Navy at the federal level, but they are still technically a seperate branch.
Not in the American Military. They eventually answer to the Department of the Navy at the federal level, but they are still technically a seperate branch.
Actually at the Federal level we don't. The Commandant of the Marine Corps has a separate place among the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
as far as training and combat kill to death ratios yes they are.
Err, no. Again, comparing just infantry, the differences in infantry training between the Army and the Marines isn't as pronounced as the Marines like to think it is. Army does less in Infantry training, but does more when the soldier gets to his unit.
And please, show us these combat kill to death ratios and your source.

Another civilian expert on the training we do. Awesome.
as far as training and combat kill to death ratios yes they are.
common soldier, yes the average corporal in the marines is probably better than the average corporal in the army. however, there are a lot more factors than that. you can't just say the marines are better because of that one factor.
the marines rely on the navy for their resources and they only account for about 6% of the US military budge
better combat brigade? army
the army has far better officer training, more and better schools, more resources, and better equipment.
