I wouldn't say Purps aren't "dank" but their strong Indica high is different than other Indicas from my experience like UBC Chemo, I find the high is good medically for sleep and phsyical pain, that's all. It doesn't have a nice feeling to it, it just makes you drowsy.

Tolerance still builds up even if you get completely blazed out of your mind-stoned every time (in fact tolerance builds up much faster then), it's not like the weed increases in strength as your tolerance does to counteract it.

The way I see it, and this is the layman's view, dank weed will always get you really high, and less high as time goes on. You notice the decline in high less with good weed because good weed can be good for more reasons than high thc content, mainly the amounts of different kinds of thc and amounts of cbd, along with taste and smokability.

You also have to consider the vindicator aspect of weed, as well as its more dramaturgical expressions in group scenarios.
