It's especially stupid when it's framed as 'Stop liking what I don't like' when it's really 'Stop liking what I can't allow myself to like' or even 'Stop liking what children like (you pedo/sexual deviant) - you're invading their space with your perverse adultness'. I'd think my dad was amazing if he watched Batman : The Animated Series with me because it's a great show and I'd be really excited that we found a show we could watch together.
the lack of shading personally wouldnt be a problem if they used it to their advantage to make the animations look smoother and better only they didnt
my point was this is stuff i usually cared about when i was a child i mean complaining about it as an adult on a forum is a little strange this shit is airing on disney XD haha come on guys
You're an adult and you're still using "xD" emotes? Time to grow up man.
the lack of shading personally wouldnt be a problem if they used it to their advantage to make the animations look smoother and better only they didnt
They stand out from the background more than old cartoons like Tom and Jerry or Scooby Doo.
It looks like a fuckin' storyboard.
I always think it's more immature when someone refuses to consume certain media just so they can feel like "adults" than if they just enjoyed what they wanted. I see this so much on anything kid-related where adults are consuming it too: "Eww nintendo is for kids, eww cartoons are for children; I'm an adult now, I have to watch mature shows and play mature games only". It's really stupid. :pudge:
instead of saying "i like it" you have to divulge into a serious character analysis about me being a stupid terrible person despite me not actually saying anything negative about you guys really shows your maturity just seems to me you're all very self conscious and defensive about... this... Hey how about this, what if i just like cartoons and want good ones? Does that make me immature somehow? Does it emasculate me? I happen to like both X-Files and Dexters Lab. Is this a problem?
i can understand the stuff you mentioned like batman the animated series; but this is like those lego ninja shows, my little cousin who's 5 watches shows like this, i mean this is just not stuff you should really be worrying about interest wise or quality wise if you look at any of those shows like this for this age group the quality is inconsequential for adults. it's literally not meant for you, that's why you're upset at it

So what if im not the target demographic? Why does that mean i cant criticize it? Also its based on a comic book property who can range from kid friendly to hard-R ultra violence, its not exclusively for children. See Spidey there? He killed his wife with radioactive sperm once. See Scorpion? Spider-Man punched his jaw off once with blood spraying out. Guess what, you can make something everyone can enjoy while also making it high quality. This is not high quality, it is low quality, its poorly animated and low effort. All of your posts in this thread boil down to "well uh stop criticizing it uh its for kids uh if its shit it doesnt matter who cares".
I don't care for this show, nor am I talking about you. I was replying to Firgof Umbra's post and expanding on how I feel about people acting like they can't watch kids shows because they're adults. You seem to be the self conscious one if you automatically assume I'm talking about you when I'm not. But I do think it's silly to wave away criticism of anything by saying "it's for kids". That's never an excuse for something being crap.
The channels name is Disney XD my man. That's what media should strive to be. A non cartoon example is Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, it was made for children, but everything about it is loved by children to the elderly.
It looks so flat, it lacks any kind of texture. And it appears nobody casts a shadow.

You can tell because they're not grim and dark, like Batman: TAS, which totally wasn't for little babies because it used so many dark colors and B-man was so dark and edgy. Also, I liked it. Now, I'm not saying it makes you little babies because you want to enjoy said shows but I am saying little babies is the only audience for it. The only audience it has is little babies; those that watch shows like it are little babies. What's the problem? I've said nothing negative about you guys and you just keep attacking me; all I'm talking about are the little babies that watch shows like this one.
damn do i remind you of your parents or something at some point you've gotta put the kid to bed you're complaining about the equivalent to a lego ninjo show on the internet
Do you have an ACTUAL argument hidden somewhere in all these old dried up jizz posts of yours or are personal attacks all you can put in them? [editline]5th June 2017[/editline] And also, you DO remind me a bit of my mum who, despite loving to watch Czech made live action fairy tales( both older and recent ones), cannot get over the mindset that videogames are "FER KIDS, MIND NUMBING AND BAD INFLUENCE". So you both are absolute dips, just in different areas.
damn do i remind you of your parents or something at some point you've gotta put the kid to bed you're complaining about the equivalent to a lego ninjo show on the internet
And for the millionth time, why is a kids show free from criticism? I'm pretty sure we know what we're complaining about. The question is why is it wrong or bad to complain about it?
damn do i remind you of your parents or something at some point you've gotta put the kid to bed you're complaining about the equivalent to a lego ninjo show on the internet
Are you gonna adress the arguments towards you or just shitpost wildly?
damn do i remind you of your parents or something at some point you've gotta put the kid to bed you're complaining about the equivalent to a lego ninjo show on the internet
Honestly you should stop because you're just embarrassing yourself even more with every new post.
at some point you've gotta put the kid to bed
Whoever has convinced you of this is a joyless old fart who drinks whiskey because it makes them more a man and owns nothing but a wardrobe full of smoking jackets and monogrammed robes because that's the height of mature fashion. They'll bear the scars of liver cirrhosis, lung cancer from smoking cigars, and loneliness as badges of honor - badges that 'prove they're an adult' - because being 'the most mature person in the room' is what's most important to them in life. Here's a secret, since you seem to have not been let in on it: People don't become more mature with age, they just get older. Part of becoming more mature is letting go of childish things - but that doesn't really include all your hobbies and likes/dislikes. What it does include are things like feeling like you must imitate some fantasy masculine/mature concept you put in your own head to 'be mature like the adults'. The sad bit is that the harder you try to 'be an adult' the less mature you'll show yourself to be. Kindergarten kids whine about 'you like that thing? eww, that's for babies!' and you've more in common with them than folks who're mature enough to wonder why the other person likes it. Usually, people have pretty good reasons for why they like things.
do i remind you of your parents or something
You remind me more of my 6 year old cousin than my parents.
To point out some specific shityness: Top of character is clipped (probably due to poorly planned fx pipeline like camera shake) also in general, their animation is very "cut corner", missing a lot of principal things that make animations good (anticipation, follow-through, etc.) here's a good example, they don't maintain the pose or inirtia of the character movement: 1 Frame later: Pretty bad considering it is an official Disney/Marvel production. Seems like they didn't' want to fork over the time/money that would have been required to make this decent and probably hired amateur artists.

I'd point fingers at the storyboard artists/director/producer too though; it's not just the drawing or flow that's poor here, it's the general direction. If you look close, you can tell there was a lot of fighting over what should be shown where as there's obvious 'insert filler' moments such as the tumbling backwards scene when he got tail slapped into the desk in the trailer (and was already to the desk in terms of space). Likely what was originally intended there was for Parker to get tail slapped, then get smashed into the desk in that long zoom out shot. Then, for some reason, they felt they had to show him tumbling head-over-heel before he smashed into the desk but then didn't go back and correct that he'd already cleared most of the space to it. Feels like a lot of snap judgments in here that are weakening the whole thing.
The writing and enviroment art is SO BAD.
my dude im not hating on anybody for liking cartoons or whatever you wanna watch, it's just this is pre-schooler content and your complaints about the animation about this show and shows like it specifically come off as misguided and strange to me
People have explained why your analysis of this as "Pre schooler" content is wrong, and not actually descriptive of anything. People have also explained how the audience for this show is no excuse for low quality. Misguided and strange? I find it "Misguided and strange" how it's so hard for you to admit you were wrong and dismissive of other people Something many people can do and you're refusing to do it.
Yeah, I know, I got it already. You're not 'hating on anybody', you're just saying their interests are childish and their viewpoints are childish and not liking the level of quality on a show that they'd like to like but can't because it's poor is childish. You're not 'calling anyone a child', you're just labeling everything about them as childish which is toootally different. Near pre-schooler content is Barney/Sesame Street. This is obviously for older than that audiences. If you've ever watched near pre-schooler content you'd know the immediate and large difference between the two. I know it's important that this show remains 'a child's show' in your head but buddy I've seen children's shows and this isn't one. You want to talk about animated kids shows we can talk about Word World, Martha Speaks, Fetch!, Word Girl, Super Why, et cetera. This false equivalence you're making only serves to embarass your position that this must be a kid's show because 'it's on a network that's primarily aimed at kids'. Cartoon Network was primarily aimed at kids. Cartoon Network made fantastic cartoons for all ages. This is by far a more all-ages cartoon than a for-kids cartoon. In fact if I were to pin down the particular audience they're going for, I'd say they're trying to hit the 10-16 year old demographic and preteen/teen-mix shows are an entirely different animal than preschooler shows.
Adults can shit on kids show because of how poorly a kids show is made for kids just think about it, if you're an adult and watching it under the context of how intelligently made it is and what a kid would get out of it, you can really look deep into the show and review it in full [editline]5th June 2017[/editline] Just look at Avatar: TLA for kids there isn't a better kids show it's smart, it has an adaptable plot, its got action that kids can like, it has characters who are actual people. It isn't just brainless schlock. Its something even adults can enjoy because the humor is flexible enough that both groups can laugh.

Why do you continue to act like this. How old are you? 10? You act like a child who cant accept that they might be wrong. You throw temper tantrums, you go "but nuh-uh", you try to act gruff and mature and adult, you cant seem to comprehend the most basic and simple of arguments and explanations, you ignore and find very specific things to nitpick to try and invalidate someones entire argument when your own argument is essentially just "but its for kids so fuck you". Are you in middle school? Whats the explanation here? Plus, you're wrong, this show is clearly not for pre-schoolers, its intended for i'd guess an 8-12 year old crowd.
