Now I'm all paranoid that the ADHD medicine (concerta) I take is screwing me up. And now I feel even more paranoid because 'paranoid delusions' can be one of the symptoms.
I got the some of those paranoid delusions when I was on it too. It only effected me when it was wearing off and when my appetite returned and I felt incredibly hungry from not eating anything that day due to the suppressed appetite. There were many times when I was walking home from the bus stop and couldn't shake the feeling I was being watched and followed. Many times I would sprint home because I felt this, even though I knew rationally it wasn't real and it was a side effect. It could have also been really low blood sugar from not eating while on it. Who knows.
Clinical depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. As such, it's a physiological rather than cognitive problem. While therapy and life changes can help with depression, medicine is the most effective treatment.
A combination of therapy and medicine is optimal.
Oh shit... I have all of those symptoms but I've never taken SSRI's before. The fuck does that mean?
Oh shit... I have all of those symptoms but I've never taken SSRI's before. The fuck does that mean?
It means you should start taking SSRI's because you should be quite depressed and you have nothing to lose.
Now I'm all paranoid that the ADHD medicine (concerta) I take is screwing me up. Most of them are amphetamines, not anywhere close to SSRI things
I suppose that AS an adult, I am LEGALLY required by LAW to post on this FACEPUNCH site in this MANNER. Also depressed 12 year old, jesus christ, I was about as emotionally developed as a puppy at 12.
You have to have been through nasty shit to be depressed at 12. Mum is unwilling to sue but I'll convince her and get dad to help. Thanks op, I thought my problem was normal until you made this thread.
Ah, apologies, I completely misunderstood your post. I agree with that, it's definitely like you described, and experimentally validated by the placebo effect (such as dopamine being released by the thalamus in people who think they are drinking coffee but are not)/ I know, but with general bias to that, and it being the internet, I automatically assumed the worst.
solution to your problems: stop with prescription meds. smoke weed erryday.
you just fap too much
I'm gonna resurrect this to post that I've been off SSRIs for three weeks and the sexual side effects still haven't gone away. Really hope I don't have this shit. EDIT: Luckily though, I am not depressed.
