Yeah the poster is awesome. The main reason TFD sucked so much was the terrible acting, the god awful effects and the unimaginative deaths. They appear to actually be trying with this film. [editline]16th July 2011[/editline] I also hope it's actually shot in 3D and not converted. As far as I know TFD was shot. [editline]16th July 2011[/editline] Yes FD5 is shot in 3D, that's nice. As was TFD. http://realorfake3d.com/

What bugged me most about TFD though was not only that most of Lori's fake death happened off screen but also that the entire ending was in x-ray vision.
The black guy in the trailer looks like a black Robert Englund. [editline]18th July 2011[/editline] The black guy in the OP. [editline]18th July 2011[/editline] I'd also like to add that the ''We kill someone, we get their life.'' sounds interesting.
The 4th movie sucked donkey balls, the only good part was [sp]when the black guy tried to kill himself and said that he failed like 3 times.[/sp]

I'm sorry but when I saw the trailer for this all I could think was "are you fucking kidding me?" http://realorfake3d.com/
If by "trying" you mean copying and pasting the exact same formula that has been used 4 times already then yes, they are trying pretty hard. I'm sorry, but it just pisses me off when movies are so shamelessly unoriginal, I mean, I'm not saying all movies have to be groundbreaking Oscar winners, I like the occasional cheesy popcorn flick, but jesus at least put in a little effort. They might as well just stop making these movies, create a youtube channel, and just film death scenes and post them on there, because thats all people watch them for.

Change that and it isn't a FD film. Basically, go watch something else. New gigantic poster. http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMTgyOTExNDc1M15BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwMDA0MTA4NQ@@._V1_.jpg
So first off, I was able to catch an early screening in Pierce County and went in with somewhat lukewarm expectations. With the cast, director, writer, and budget on board I felt it could be good but I had a lot more fun than anticipated. Opening scene was one of the more intense and crazy. (I'm a fan of the 2nd). Very much improved visual effects here. The 3D was executed better than the 4th as well. Character wise it was obvious they did better casting (Nicholas, Tony, Emma). I truly wanted some of these randoms to live. Deaths here are top notch, very blunt and very cringe worthy. This movie truly did improve on all aspects that the 3rd and 4th lacked...a creepy realistic feel. A few new aspects are thrown in as well which help keep the story fresh and not feel repetitive. If you are ready for this 3D roller-coaster then go see this well made guilty pleasure.
Fuck yes.
I love these movies. Hell no I'm not expecting perfect dialogue, perfect acting, or 100% realistic shit, but these movies are damn entertaining. And hilarious.
Someone has a thing for blue.
First off... this is by far the best film in the entire series. Even better than the original. The effect the first one had on me was astounding, but this one cranked it to eleven and then broke the knob off. Second, if you are avoiding seeing this film because "oh the trailers spoiled everything"... don't. The trailers spoiled not a damn thing. The trailers are a lie! Go see the film. I saw it in IMAX 3D last night for the midnight show, that's the best way to see it... totally worth the extra money to see it that way. [editline]12th August 2011[/editline]
I'm sorry but when I saw the trailer for this all I could think was "are you fucking kidding me?" They put enough effort into this film to change the entire dynamic and you don't know that because you haven't seen the movie, dude. It's no where near the exact formula; as a fan of the series, I left the theater knowing every character's name something I was never able to do with parts 2-4. I gave a damn about all the characters, they're good personalities even when they're total fucking assholes and every scene in the film makes you go "When the fuck did I change theaters, stop watching a Final Destination movie, and started watching Vertigo?" But the biggest thing is the trailers lied to you. Do not trust the trailers! They spoil nothing! There is a twist so big in this film I can't even HINT at it that changes fucking -everything-. Literally, it puts a huge ripple through the rest of the films and changes all of their perspectives. And it's something they DIDN'T put in the trailers, so you can only find out if someone A spoils the film for you (and they're assholes for it) or B go see the film. Trust me. It's different. [editline]12th August 2011[/editline]
And so it becomes a [sp]full circle[/sp], cheap trick director, cheap trick. Was it ever explained why [sp]the plane exploded in the first place?[/sp]
...y-you weren't paying attention during the first film, were you?
Good to hear. Still have to wait til the 25th here.

Damn dude that sucks. Avoid the net for a while? Spoilers are already all over the place. You don't want this film spoiled for you. [editline]12th August 2011[/editline]
The black guy survives?
Of course Bludworth survives, Tony Todd never dies! ... Except in all of his other movies.
The ending was cool [sp]how it turns out they were on the plane from the first movie and I lol'd when I saw the guy in the bar cuz I knew he would get fucked up from the plane chunk.[/sp]
This movie was awesome, and yeah you should see it in IMAX if you can, but 3d for sure. The opening credits alone use 3d better than most so called 3d movies. The deaths were very gruesome. The best part of the setups is they never quite go in the direction you think they will, that helps a lot. The guy who is always on his phone was hilarious, practically everything he said was comedy gold. One interesting thing: In the theater I saw this in, the scene that caused the most cringing and "Awww!" reaction wasn't even a kill, it was the [sp]girl stepping on the screw[/sp]. It's funny how the simplest things sometimes are the worst.
5nal Destination makes just as much sense as Se7en (se-seven-en) and Thir13en Ghosts (thir-thirteen-en ghosts).
5nal Destination
Sounds like a porno
I couldn't help but laugh a lot at the first death. Got powder in your eyes?? Do 50 flips and let go [editline]15th August 2011[/editline] I had to stop watching the film, I shut it off after 1 hour into it. Everyone's death was hilariously stupid. "Okay men, let's create a lasik eye machine that is strong enough to hurt people, it's the only way to cure vision"

Haha i fucking knew that [sp] one of the people they'd kill to live would have a terminal condition.[/sp] Very fun movie, though. Ending was great. Completely fucking ridiculous.
Watch People Die 5: Hollywood runs out of ideas edition
The gym scene with the screw sticking up was intense.
I must say that this film was actually really well made. It's sorta like Fast 5 as it got pretty decent reviews, it has a 55% on Rottom Tomatoes while all the others are pretty low. Fair play.
Did they recycle the story or is this one more innovative?
So I got to watch it. A-fucking-mazing. Likable characters (well, except you-know-who), good SFX, nice original twist to the formula, hella awesome ending! And I swear to God,[sp]Candice's death must hold the current record for most red herrings in a single scene. Looked fucking disgusting too![/sp] If I had to nitpick, I'd say that FD just can't shake the fact that while having a more plausible premise than most horror movies, it's only possible because of some seriously poor decisions. For instance,[sp]Isaac sees the sign that says his cellphone should be turned off but he keeps it on anyway.[/sp]Okay, forgivable. But then![sp]His phone goes off, the woman sees that it's a fairly heavily vibrating phone and rather than, you know, turning it off like she's supposed to, she puts it smack next to a candle on a shelf![/sp]Or how about when [sp]the room is set on fire. He falls over, gets up and is perfectly able to stand and walk. Rather than simply getting out the room like any sane person would do, he goes to get the needles out.[/sp] But the worst offender must be [sp]Olivia. Rather than throwing her cup of water away, she leaves it on top of the water tank. Which is also conveniently placed directly next to a wall socket which also is REALLY conveniently connected to the wall socket on the other side. And what's plugged into that wall socket? The lasering machine![/sp] Ending was pretty fucking horrendously goddamn rad. I actually expected [sp]it would be another vision but no![/sp]And to be perfectly honest, it did become slightly predictable when[sp]Bludworth specifically says 'their years become yours'[/sp]. I mean,[sp]Nathan's face when he heard about the autopsy was solid fucking gold shoved between the tits of a hot Swedish bisexual supermodel[/sp]. This might sound like ranting but it isn't. It's just me getting incredibly pissy because of logic. And if there's one thing you should leave at the door, it's logic. In fact, I loved it. I'm afraid that when this comes out on home media, I'll be having a weird jump on my shelf where the FD movies will be standing.
Did they recycle the story or is this one more innovative?
As mentioned in the trailer, Bludworth (the coroner) tells them that they can take someone's life for their own if they kill them rather than hand themselves over. It's pretty nicely done, if executed a little disappointingly.
I really like how they show all the hazards in that scene. It really makes you think how they will come in play.
Is it better than the first one?
