Some users thought it'd be hilarious to become a "martyr" on an internet forum, so they kept going on despite Dav0rs warning and the other bans that served as warning, thus ruining the thread. If there was any doubt in the decision to keep puns banned, you guys fucked up.

That's why everyone else acted like immature twats. That thread was nothing but a joke to begin with. There wasn't any potential for intellectual discussion. It was a gag thread, something for people to scroll through and giggle a little bit. However, that person never broke the rules if you want to be completely technical A pun is: The pun, also called paronomasia, is a form of word play which suggests two or more meanings, by exploiting multiple meanings of words, or of similar-sounding words, for an intended humorous or rhetorical effect. The "pun" someone was banned for: "That felon should really look at the man in the mirror." That is not a pun. It is not a play on words, it is not exploiting a double meaning for humorous effect. It is a joke, and last I checked, jokes weren't even banned in SH.

I think that what they did, however, shows that there is a very clear hostility to a new rule that a lot of people consider unfair or arbitrary. I think that is something that should be either addressed in a meaningful way, or perhaps compromised.
