If it's a thread worthy of discussion, it will go past page 1. If it isn't, then I don't see why it can't serve as a joke. I personally have never experienced bad puns as anything but something you rate dumb and move on with though, so I don't really see your problem here.

Bring back the puns.

It could be there's a bit of a "cooldown" when they're first uploaded now

Why can't we just have some simple fun in the SH? There were plenty of serious discussions going on in the times when puns were still allowed, it's not like allowing puns will lead to constant pun-streams in every thread, at least not long-term. Remember when you allowed the Austin Powers picture? After it was allowed, I still didn't see it getting used much at all.

As soon as you've opened the image, it is cached by your browser and it will be loaded from file instead of from imgur.com when you next see the image on Facepunch, which is why it won't be blocked anymore.

It's not likely to change because most users have no self restraint when it comes to the matter. Mods have made it clear the rules here to stay so there's no reason to continue trying to argue for it's "legalization".

Banning is the main form of deterrent and control the mod team has. so if they want this to stop, it becomes bannable. There's nothing personal in a ban, and saying that they've "banned humour" is just blatant exaggeration
