Response to a report most likely. We don't have to visit the thread to ban a user. It can all be done in the report screen.

It seems silly that a moderator would ban someone without visiting the thread at all, because I'm pretty sure you could ban at least 10 people from the FPUK thread alone (you should do it).

seth apparently banned sale and mentioning in the sethhack forums, but yeah, as the primary users of sethhack and devnull are the same age (12) then they go hand in hand.

I thought they were banned as, in extreme cases, the same regurgitated pun would appear in virtually post on the first page, meaning that people who wanted to actually discuss the news story weren't able to.
