In cases such as these the only one that might be arrested/charged is the owner of the site allowing such material, which isn't the case because facepunch is hosted in the US where it isn't illegal (yet).

This means if some random asshole posts CP and it goes into your internet cache (and images on the internet always do), you can be arrested for possession of CP. Yes, this even applies if you were not intentionally viewing it. Note that this doesn't apply if you live in Oregon or some other state I forget. In those two states you have to explicitly and willingly download it. Point is, CP is illegal to even accidentally view in almost all cases (in the US).

When is it a mods position to decide when a thread is terrible, if the community likes it? If someone posts offending content, remove the content and ban/warn the user, don't shut down and permanently ban the thread, especially if it's active.
